Are we British or English?

I actually work in a welsh town in a welsh environment. I think the welsh are far more anti english than english are anti welsh. I can understand the "english" stuff though ;)

Sorry about that Murf, couldn't resist :D

You can have the last laugh though as Mrs. taliesyn is well into the World Cup, and it'll be on the telly constantly in the taliesyn household this Summer :( :)

There's no need for us English to be anti-welsh. They like to keep themselves to themselves (and their sheep) without making any noise or fuss. Easy to ignore! :D

I am WELSH !!

If I'm talking to someone from the UK then I will say I'm Welsh , If I'm talking to someone outside of the UK then I call myself British

If I am filling out a form and it asks for my nationality then I declare myself as British

From experience of living in Essex I notice that you English lot don't really see yourself as British and it's English every time ..

Would be interested to see what the Scots say ;)

Same here but obviously substituting Scottish for Welsh (although I do sometimes tell non-UK people that I'm Scottish as it can be advantageous due to the correct observation earlier regarding Scots being treated differently to English in certain places abroad).

Stan :)

Not a lot of foreign people have heard of Wales .. Until I say the words " Tom Jones " LOL :D

I would say that I'm Irish, I've got an Irish passport and my family orginates from the south of Ireland. Even though I was born in Belfast I wouldn't call myself British, not for any religious or political reasons but you get less hassle in airports when you've got an Irish passport ;)

You need to have something to distinguish you.

As soon as someone foreign sees a kilt and/or a big orange beard, you're everyones pal :D

Stan :)

Haha, unless you're seen by an English person in which case you're an instant enemy

Foreigners have no problems with Geordies either. I think the problem with england is all the xenophobic nutters, who think that they are better than everyone else. No wonder it puts people off them, and the country in general.
