Are we starting to see the wage increase vs inflation increase death spiral?

There is no future in this country, it is becoming a dead country. I plan to leave this sinking ship and move abroad.
I would love to do that but

1. Finding a job over seas
2. The upheaval for the children having to leave current school and life in the UK
3. The wife's family that she would never wanna leave
4. Everything else on top

It just seems like a nightmare situation to me, I feel stuck and although I have a good income generally less and less is affordable as we move forward

It might be too late for people like you and me who are "stuck" by circumstances such as job and family. But perhaps the right approach is to start encouraging our kids to consider moving when they are young adults.

I do not have children, and will not have them in London. I have been thinking about this for a few years, once I finish my MSc at UCL I plan to leave. I come to realise, this country has nothing that it can offer me, it just takes. Therefore I do not have any allegiance to this country. I have been offered 3 times my UK wages, a green card via first preference/second preference or possible waiver, or work mainland Europe 2 time my wages. A the moment there seems to be a surge of hiring in my field by other countries, I need to take the opportunity.

The prices of properties in London is crazy mad, not worth the money, UK does not value skills and education like it used to and even then it was poor. I had to pay for an education which was free 20 years ago, politicians tell us, they invest in our education, what do they really invest in? as I am the one that had to pay for it.

Simply a choice between paying the people who do the work more or filling the pockets of the leeches at the top. Torys choose the leeches.
This has been going on since Tony was in office, Cameron made it worse, Boris was given the bomb. for 20 the government has been stealing from you via taxes and fiscal drag.

Personally i find it funny how people think it will be different under the next government.
You think 15 years of labour will solve anything?
You need to look out for yourselves, because no politician is on your side until they get their cut first.
If you think the grass is greener, then go.
If you are young and in a position to go, then go.

Dont kid yourself the UK is an excellent place to live. London especially.
But if you are at the start of a career and you have no ties take your best option.

It is funny, "kick the can down the road" , until there is no more can.
They need to be made accountable after office.

You should focus less on pity and blame and more on your potential future outcomes. The first lot will achieve you nothing but getting angry.

Yep, agreed. Politicians are not your friends. Remember - it's their job to run the country properly. I can't remember a single government doing this, right back to the last time Labour spent everything they could get their hands on. I'm too young to remember back any further but from reading it's not like Major, Thatcher at al made a decent job of it either.

Compared to the majority of countries, the UK is an excellent place to live. But that doesn't make us immune to corrupt politicians, nowhere is.

Well they destroyed this country along with lefties and landlords, working in the UK does not pay, wages are too low to survive.
I remember they said we would move from low pay sectors like manufacturing etc to high skill high pay sectors like IT.

Well ball park figure, 90% of people on this forum are doing fine "surviving"
With such threads as how many hundreds of pounds did you spend on Lego and Pictures of What did you unnecessarily impulse buy this week.

Mr Wong no disrespect but i assume you are very young and lack life experience.
Get the Masters and go forth and multiply.
Wherever that puts you.
The UK needs political and tax system economical reform to bring it to the 21st century but no government has the balls.

There those that sit back and take the abuse giving to them, eventually think it is the norm. The people living now are much weaker than those before us. I have lots of experience and my own conclusion.

You think these forums represent the total population?

They can if the people force it onto them, but with the current cognitive abilities in this country , I do not see it.

To where though? Think about 50 years ago when a lot of countries were touting for skilled immigrants. Australia or Canada for example.

Now those places are tightening themselves down - they've got enough people and they don't want to create welfare problems for themselves. And they are just as expensive as here.

I don't think there are any easy routes now. Other countries have caught up, they don't need our skills anymore, they have surpassed our level.

The UK's success was all to do with its overseas ambition, and we've slowly but surely given all that away and now we're becoming insignificant.

The people living now were raised by those living before them. Society has become a population of passive consumers. The end. Give them something new to buy like you’d give a baby a toy to keep them quiet.
