argos sell crap products.

the catalogue is a strange piece of history I agree, but these days id rather a million trees weren’t cut down for the sake of that low income consumer bible.

Christ you talk some ****e. In fact what's your address so I can send a towel so you can wipe you mouth.

babble, swear, insult, rage dribble

No hotlinked images, if you want to post an image please rehost on your own webspace. Thank you.

btw that’s 'your mouth' I can send you a thesaurus if you like.

well in any case you would have to ship overseas :p , also don’t buy the towel from argos.. just send me the magazine and i can wipe my arse with it.

you obviously cant take a joke

When I was still in the UK, I stopped going to the high street unless I absoutely needed to. Amazon is much better IMO. The catalog is much bigger and the delivery options far exceed what Argos provides, especially with Prime.

I'll be gutted to see it go tbh :(

It's a childhood memory I recall clearly - me and me siblings sitting there going through page by page - That ones mine! no that ones mine!. Eventually after bugging the parents enough we got about a 1/100,000 of what we wanted :) I was laughing the other day to see my kids doing the same lol

It was the one item in the house you could always turn to for ideas and if you ask me is what made Argos what it is today.

Yes I do reserve items online now, then go collect - but the first point of call for us is the catalogue sitting with torn toy pages in the corner of the room.

It's strange how we all wanted 'high end' digital Casio's :p
I set my sights lower - I wanted the World Time Casio (about 1988) which was around £14. I have no idea why I needed the world time function at the age of 9 :o

Number 9 - oh yeah !! :p

I and everyone one of my school mates had the 9 ! :P

These pages are hilarious, I was born 85 so this example is slightly earlier than I remember, but the items are very similar.

I was the kid with the remote control watch, we used to drive the teachers mad at school changing the channels whenever a video went on in class

Up until a few days ago I hadn't used the catalogue for years and just searched the website.

However after getting one I forgot how nice it was to browse through. The website is great when you know what you want but it doesn't let you browse the way the catalogue offers. I think Argos could lose quite a few sales by ditching it.

This.

Is is considerably more difficult and time consuming to "Browse" a website!

One can skim through dozens, if not hundreds, of pages of a paper catalogue in only a few minutes.

The only time "On Line" beats paper is when you know exactly what you want (And even then, you still have to figure out exactly what precise Cabalistic incantation needs to be typed into the "search" box to get to the right page!)

There needs to be a catalogue; it's like a time capsule of for that half of the year. I can understand the costs of it, we still have telephone directories that hardly gets used. Maybe if they stop forcing it on people; they wouldn't have to produce so many but the Argos stores near me are always busy when a new catalogue comes out.

Not used the catalogue for ages, the site/app is much better. Saves you a wasted trip to check stock also. Get shot I say.

I see a lot of elderly in argos. I doubt many of them would be surfing the net for their purchases. I bet most of them use the catalogue then catch a bus over to the store.

Yeah, I'd forgotten too until I moved into my new place and started shopping around for homely items. Same with the ikea catalogue.

It's great being able to take a poop and browse through the catalogue! Dog earing the pages with stuff that piques your interest. It's currently my favourite bathroom activity, I've not taken my phone in with me for weeks! :D
