In all seriousness though, if the enemy had air assets or anti air vehicles the aircraft wouldnt be able to move in until the troops on the ground had taken out the AA. Would make for some interesting fighting as troops on the ground would have to fight to get rid of the AA! Then again Sarcasm and I stumbled upon an AA tank whilst flying along and it didnt even shoot us :confused:

I've changed my name now from Viper to Totality so see people tonight. I've finially got the game working properly by installing 32bit Windows 7 \o/
 
AI def needs air assets. Thing is, this is an easy thing to set and all it will mean is finding the right co-op mission with enemy air elements. That is what is so damn good about the game at the end of the day.

Cheers for the info L33, i'll take note of it, i've not had any problems with it at all, it just seemed to flick around wildly for the first 5 mins of installing it. I'll be giving it a good run on the server later this evening so i'll try it out.

The vista x64 i use, i had too for some strange reason use the -winxp line in shortcut, now i don't have to to get crossfire working

Not sure bout the [OcUK] thing

I've installed those 9.7 cats. I can't tell much difference, it was running smooth on 9.6's maxed out @ 1920X1200 :D I'd still like to know if my 2 4870X2's are grafting though. If all 4 gfx cards are grafting it'd help reduce heat i suppose.

Problem here and dunno if i`m in right place to post this or what but here goes.
I have been playing the ocuk arma 2 server most of the week and been getting on fine with the regulars Ewan,Wootme etc etc.Even played through the night till 5am one day.
However i tried to join the server at 7:50pm tonight and was greeted with the message "you were banned".To say i was surprised would be an understatement.
Any chance of finding out why i have been banned as i don`t think i had one single team kill or complaint against me the whole week.I was however on the server the previous night (or was it the night before that?) when a crowd of team killers joined and started messing up our game.I stayed a while and tried to ignore it so they would go and it eventually it calmed down after we had vote kicked a few of them.Did i get caught up in a blanket ban?
I assume server logs are available?
Could someone please check out the server logs and unban me after verifying that i have done no wrong at all the whole week.It would be much appreciated by me.The name i use is the same as here, TNT
I apologise if i have posted this in the wrong section but can find no other that seems suitable.I did send a pm to Lee through xfire asking for advice but received no answer at this moment.

It will get picked up here TNT don't worry. If L33 is in-game he wont see your xfire message until he quits.
 
two thumbs up for PvP! Even with no TS on our side, we did respectably. Best part of the night - rocketing town and seeing a couple of familiar names pop up on the death list. Now there are two TS channels (cheers Shad) that map promises to be a whole lot of fun.

I take it you were kicked out in the middle of a game ?
There are no blanket bans , you do something wrong on the server you get kick/banned then and there , we dont ban later on , only in game

See the first post in this thread , were you doing something you should not have ? (rules)
 
PvP was fun! People don't just stand there like the AI does and it's definitely more satisfying when you get a kill. I was holding the small town at one point and heard a whistling sound and someone in a Cobra was firing rockets into the town and they were flying overhead. Sounded awsome until they hit me :( Had fun tonight cheers all.

i wont be doing sniper next time on pvp :P im off AT or AA :P

i tell you one thing thou i never wanna play as russia again on coop my god at the AT... may as well chuck glass bottles at the tank and hope it cuts the driver

No, i dont think i was on ocuk at all today,I was on late last night but only 1 or 2 were there and no ammo crates were there for some reason so didnt stay long and left of my own accord.I was checking out some others through the day as ocuk was full.I then re-checked it but it was still full with 30 players so refreshed the browser a few times to see if it would free up a space and 29 appeared so straight away i clicked to join and got the message i was banned.
I have never been kicked or banned on any server.I`m a clan member myself on a wolf et server so know about rule breaking etc.
Clearly something has gone wrong here.
Could someone please check the logs to resolve this?
 
Just wanna add the exact time was 7:49pm tonight when i tried to join and got the message.Hopefully this will help with tracing the problem.
 
ok lads had my first dabble on mp 2nite on your server.joined your ts channel and every1 seems to know wot there doing...except me:)

i ran around as a sniper got tk'd from about 6 feet ...god knows how he didnt recognize...maybe it was the cofusion on my face....or my gaming tourettes that put him off(didnt actually say a lot on ts was way too confused,think my tongue went numb)the tourettes kicked in after the tk


i never actually saw 1 enemy soldier...saw 2 tanks...and got killed by both...got in a chopper and got shot down..got in another and had to bail and was in the middle of nowhere..but a chopper picked me up so that was good

and that was it...oh wait no i forgot i did get a kill..it was a chicken from 3 foot..wot a headshot


well looks like its special forces for me....or was it special needs...i forget

Had a few good games again tonight, playing domination as the OPFOR was "interesting". Not sure about the PvP game though, it was ok, just not my thing really. I suppose with a bit more organisation and splitting down into sections with appropriate weapon selection it could be good fun.

Hi and thanks for the response.Not sure how safe it is to post what is basically like my game serial number on the web.Could be open to exploits from some (or maybe i`m being paranoid?) so i sent it to you through an xfire message.
Please let me know if you didn`t get it for some reason.
 
Ok, my problem is fixed thanks to L33 taking the time to look over the server log, so a big thanks to him and anyone else who may have helped.
Hopefully i will see you guys again on what has become my favourate arma 2 server!
