Whats the performance like with this now? Would it run ok on a E8400 at stock and 4850 512mb and 4gb ram?

I noticed a performance increase since the last patch and if you look back in the thread, peeps are saying that the new enviroment is less taxing on your machine.

I am really looking forward to this. All I need is a SP experiance as epic as the original Operation Flashpoint and OFP: Resistance and I will be very happy!

Lol must be hard, im on the ocuk arma 2 xfire list as are you, msg me when u want a game, got a friend who'd play too, friday nights are good. we got vent.

I like this game. It reminds me of the freedom of choice you get in BF2 whilst offering a huge landscape to add to the realism. Not to mention the shear amount of AI bots that can be uses both online and offline.

It is a shame about the optimisation for the original game some people like myself have had trouble getting decent fps even after upgrading. However if OA is much more optimised like it is advertised to be then it's a first day buy for me.

Are you joking? Arma 2 servers is mostly a large community of MEN not kids lol, and each individual server host can ban you for as long as they like. So that could be life.. So everyone behaves.

Servers like the http://www.7thcavalry.us/ are so realistic that they even talk all that army lingo on game chat, you need to be military to understand them lol, and boy are they disciplined. When you do missions with them it feels so realistic.

The ocuk server was epic.
I thought what killed it was that it was made member/regular only.
Once people got busy over summer it died a quick death, needed normal people in to keep things going.

However, ArmA is certainty best plated with a group of friends who want to play it properly. Voice coms also help.

As i said above check out the offer and the http://www.7thcavalry.us/, any time you switch on your pc there's bundles of people on their server..

the 7th cav are the closest ally of the USSOCOM unit i play with. incredibly mature gamers, a lot of them serving in the military we also have very professional trainings for rangers, special forces, aviation (fixed wing and rotary) and armour. Using proper combat comms adds a massive realism element and is really quick and easy to pick up. I cannot recommend this game enough with a good mature group to play with. I primarily play with my unit of course but will play anywhere if the people are sound.
