Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead

gave up on my amazon order

they said they sent it out on the 1st but 13 days later still no show

seems odd that they dont seem to be selling it any more either
refund and ordered from play

sigh
 
Bought this on a whim, as was waiting for a demo to be released (demo stopped me from buying Arma2). Gut feeling is it should play better for my system. Miss my blackhawk in BF2 days, and looking forward to piloting a chinook.

C'mon postie.
 
Could anyone tell me how to command a pilot to transport me somewhere?

I get in the chopper, the pilot asks me where I want to go, then absolutely nothing happens. There is no menu to give a coordinate, and no option to make the ******* fly on the map.

Tearing my hear out trying to get him to do his ******* job.

Doing this, we turned Jonneymendoza into a cow gun!

go to the game editor and create a group with it containing at least on pilot. add a chopper, group that into your group and make yourself leader of that group and then you can give orderes to tekl the pilot to go i think

I'm not designing missions -literally just in the single player. I can't find any sort of command to tell the pilot where to go. He's not in my squad - I get int he chopper and the pilot in it asks me where I want to go. No matter what I do, I cannot get him to take off.

Sat in it for over an hour now pressing every shortcut possible.

I'm hoping i don't have to do what you've just suggested - if so, I'd rather not play the game :(

I don't think I've ever touched single player in Arma 2 or OA... the real gameplay is online via COOP. Suggest you get yourself into a good group and play it online, you will get the most out of the game.

Afaik during the single player campaign, you cannot command choppers where to go etc, you are usually part of a squad etc and the chopper drops you off at a scripted location. Obviously this is just a guess because I've never played through them, but from the missions I have seen that is the case.
 
i am interested in buying this game, but is it worth buying arma ii first or just go and buy operation arrowhead?
 
Tried to play tonight but all I get after trying to join a server is "you were banned"

No idea why, as I have totally vanilla setup with steam.....

Any ideas?

Few reasons, what server?
Some require you to read their rules before you play, such as being on teamspeak, those who do not are possibly kicked, I'm not sure why banned?
Maybe they required mods as well.

If you remember the name of the server, google it and find their website and see what's going on.

Thanks, I will try and find their websites and check the rules re TS etc.

I played Arma 2 for a good while online but have forgotten everything now keyboard wise :)

As I understand it Arrowhead is a standalone game, but if you already have arma 2 they both merge to form "Combined Ops".

I have both, the group im in may play a mission on an island from arma 2, so I still need arma 2.
 
Can some of you guys, run the benchmark, in singleplayer/Scenarios/ and scroll down to E08:benchmark.

And post the results :)

Mine, 5870 =55 FPS, don't think res makes a difference as I get the same score @ 1650 or 1920.
