***ArmA 3 Thread***

I think Arma 3 king of the hill infantry only is the best mod.Anyone that's not tried it should, it's like being in black hawk down.

Really like these infantry only servers I gave up on breaking point seems pointless really.

Yeah that's the only game mode i play, really enjoy it too

Has anyone got a glovepie script for arma 3 that works, ive tried asuseroako one and for the life of me i cant get it to recognise my commands only some work, but i found a arma 2 one that has just some basic movements and it works flawless, any help would be much appreciated. :)

Update:
Have written my own script now, and all is working fine.:)

I know this thread is mainly for "serious" Arma mods, but deathlyrage who runs Breaking Point put up this concerning post yesterday. Is it as serious as he makes out as I don't understand a lot of it.

Next Arma 3 Patch the Bohemia Interactive Developers are adding in a new scripting command called remoteExec and remoteExecCall which allows players to remotely execute code on all the players on the server. This is a huge secruity hole and allows anyone to mass kick everyone on the server, lagg the server, and run hacks on other players, such as teleport everyone or set off nuclear missiles.

This function, even if BI adds something to whitelist it or disable it (which doesn't exist right now). Can still be executed with memory hackery and editing.

BI justifies this new addition to 'increase performance and join in progress' and 'make it easier for everyone to make missions'. Without my work from rewriting the functions lib BIS_FNC_MP Function which is the older version of this remoteExecution command. We would have been screwed.

You know all them nuclear missiles going off on Altis Life? They don't happen on Breaking Point for some good reasons. However once arma does this patch, there is nothing I can do. I'm really close to just quitting Arma and moving onto something else that's not retarded.

Please direct my wraith to the BI Devs at the following locations to help me.

To be fair on the devs, those commands only execute what is defined in the array cfgremoteexeccommands, which can also be defined within the config.cpp file. So it is an easy fix to combat any sort of problem that may arise from that command.

The Breaking Point dev seems to think it is not something easy that can be stopped though for whatever reason that may be.

It is basically the same as bus_FNC_MP, which people have got a grip on ages ago, that caused an issue for about a month after it was included.. I can't see any issue with the new derivative of it. In fact the only one I see complaining about it is the BP dev..

It can be used in memory to execute stuff on clients and to the server, a lot is dependant on new Battleye stopping it, but BE is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Sounds like a load of ******** to me. Just a new and (in theory) much more efficient way of doing something that can already be done.

Hackers and script kiddies will still need their injectors and whatnot to get their code into the game, just means if they're successful the server will process their nukes a few milliseconds faster. Also, if you're still not convinced, don't make use of those commands in your mission and add them to your BE filters. Then (again, in theory) anyone that tries to use these commands will get logged/kicked/banned depending on how you set them up.

Hopefully this new 'before start to after finish' battleye will tighten things up a tad as well.
