how do i know which ones are used for online i see that it says it comes with online key is that correct ones to use??

I've been looking at this a bit lately, as far as I can tell for you to use a MOD on a server the server also needs to carry the key, without the server having it you'll be asked to remove the modded files before it will let you join.

I think the sound MODs are ok but as for addons such as weapons, or re-skins they are a little more picky, certainly on ARMA anyway.

Well I just had my copy of ARMA 2 delivered and am about to install it. After that are there any "Must Add" addons I should get etc or any performance tweeks to install and so on?

LOL, forget about other mods atm.
ACE2 was released yesterday and the community is going NUTS, if you haven't downloaded it already, do so now. The sheer number of features it adds to the game changes the way it is played into a completely new experience.

Downloading both now 
are there many servers running ACE and other MODs etc for ArmA 2 as there weren't many for ArmA originally and I got tired of playing the same original game, the MODs like ACE and so on gave it so much more ...

been a while since anyone has posted in here 
i have a problem..... bee trying to connect to the 82nd airborne division server as it seems to be the most consistently populated server. managed to play one round but when trying to return the day after it would go through the motions:
start arma2, fine
select the server, fine
select which soldier i would like to be and press ok... fine
but then rather than loading a data, the bar would flash up saying 0kb/0kb and then go to the other loading screen with the green man on it and go up most the way then go back to the character selection window with the "receiving data" bar up and be almost completed but it would have about 1/20th of the bar left to complete and not budge. i woudl try clicking the ok button but nothing happens, i can hear the other players talk and read their text and even bring up the server controls to vote for things but the bar just remains stuck and i cant do anything.
pressing escape just makes it go back to the server browser window have looked on google and some people say update graphics drivers i think that's irrelevant but i id it any way as there was a new version out... still the same someone else said its a problem server side but can only be resolved by a server restart....
wel how come its only effecting me and not the other 30-35 players ive seen on there... and as if they would restart the server so i can join..... its really annoying me.
i also got banned from the -=cuda=- server too the other night which really annoyed me had been on the server for a good few days, logging on for hours on end playing quite happily and doing well. then sat night 2 of the clans members came on, myself and a friend had already been playing on the server for about 3 hours and taken a few objectives ourselves.
things were going fine and i finally had enough points to call in another ICBM and was gunna do that as wanted to see the blast at night. i told them that i had enough points and was shortly going to be calling in an icbm, i was hovering close enough to see the blast but a bit out of the radiation zone.
they said they were flying over the area so i responded yea i can see that, can you hold back after ya next bombing run so that i can call it.... no reply, but i kept watching and the chopper was flying back to base and the c-130 was going in to land at base so i said i was calling in it as they were clear and no reply so i did it and it spammed the chat with the usual "Sasso requestiong ICBM at co ords blah blah blah.... IBCM incomming blah blah blah"
so i was excited and sat there watching, i said again that i had just called it and to sta clear.... nothing.... so i kept watching it and saw the missile comming in from the sky so i called " HERE IT COMES" and then one of the clan members said "and so is the boot"
i was a bit confused as to what he meant as i was concentrating on being blinded by the blast..... it went off and saw that both the clan members had died....
THEY HAD IGNORED ALL MY WARNINGS AND HAD FLOWN BACK INTO THE OBJECTIVE....
what a bunch of tools... i said to them "why did you fly back in" and their response was to kick me from the game.... i tried several times to rejoin but they kept kicking me as soon as i loaded.
i waited a few mins and then logged in again, i managed to get back into the game and said something along the following.
"why do you keep kicking me? im just playing the game like you? all i did was use an asset that is available to me..... i even told you i was going to do it, waited till you were safe and kept giving you warning updates that it was happenning..... and then you kick me because you flew back into the danger zone clearly marked on the map and then kick me?!".....
their only response to this was "thanks for playing the server, enjoy you perma ban"
and with that i havent been able to get on since as i get the "you were banned" message when i try to join the server
rather petty of them dont you think.... all i was doing was playing the game their silly fault that they got killed... and i mean only the once did i kill them cos of that..... the rest of the time in ther server i was taking out enemy aircraft and giving air drops to the other players on the team.... think they are just some **** tards who got power trip from admin status xP when they next on im my friend is gunna go on their server and try to get me unbanned... i mean we had a few days without the admins and we had a great time, there was pretty much no tking, any that occurred was accidental then they get ****y because they died once xD

Not sure about your tech issue there. are you running mods? im sure iv had this issue before tbh but i cant remember how i sorted it. will ask my arma2 unit and see what they think.
As for power tripping admins. try new servers.
I know our servers all the clan members have admin access but our rules are tight, all kicks and bans HAVE to be logged with explanations screenshots etc to avoid situations like the one you described and anyone abusing it swiftly gets kicked from the unit.

Yeah people like that with too much power tend to abuse it, I was in a server once with a few friends, we were moving through a small village and I was covering everyone with the MG, all of a sudden my friends came under fire by a few people hid in some trees miles away on a hilltop. A few friends got badly injured started calling friendly fire through text and chat, they then started firing on me, I managed to hide behind a building and move around the village without them seeing me. I also noticed that they were shooting at our allies vehicles driving on the road in the distance. I managed to sneak up quite close to them whilst they were distracted and unload on them with the MG, within a few seconds it came up that I'd team killed a few allies all bearing the same clan tag.
They all moaned that everyone was firing on them and that they were only defending themselves, they also said that they never saw or heard any saying it was friendly fire. Just as more people started joining in the arguement against them they kicked and banned me and a few friends. One of my friends who managed to stay in the server told us that they continued to ban people who tried to argue with them and basically caused the server to empty.
They all moaned that everyone was firing on them and that they were only defending themselves, they also said that they never saw or heard any saying it was friendly fire. Just as more people started joining in the arguement against them they kicked and banned me and a few friends. One of my friends who managed to stay in the server told us that they continued to ban people who tried to argue with them and basically caused the server to empty.

ive been trying to find their clan web page but there doesn't seem to be one for me to complain on xP
is everyone playing OA now as theres not many people on these servers anymore? or is everyone still playing with ace mods? i tried to install them last night using the six updater but i had to change the mods to Arma2 compatability but it kept reverting them to OA and diabling them when i tried to run them /confused think im going to buy OA as i want to play the PR mod when its out and think thats where everyone is now rather than on the origional
Thats really gutting, can't afford it at the moment and was looking at getting back into this.
Sassos relentless pestering to buy buy buy is also grinding me down
