ARMA2 & OFP2 who else cant wait

:D Just got it working now!

I went into MSCONFIG and limited my ram to 3072mb instead of 4096.

Now runs great!

Dj Switch, we can get a game of coop arranged at some point if you are up for it, hopefully there are other fellow OCUK members still playing this...

Glad to hear you got it working in the end. :D

Sorry for the late reply. It would be good to get a game with a few people from here. I haven't added any mods to it, and the servers seem to be split along those lines, so it shouldn't be too hard to get a game sorted. I lost many an hour over the weekend on it.

I've only been playing for a couple of weeks so if anyone has any good recommendations for good servers then it would be appreciated. The best I've found so far for helpful people and good teamwork has been the (GSF) server.

On a side note...I'm absolutely loving the use of Trackir for infantry. I've only used it with flight sims so far although it is so useful for the infantry side of things as well. Hopefully more games adopt this.

I can't be bothered to mess about with Arma. I am well up for an Arma 2 game with you guys though.

The screenshots look quite disapointing to me. Lots of buildings don't look like you can go in them and still looks a lot like the original Arma in parts.

How is the first ARMA shaping up now ?. I haven't played it for ages due to it being pretty buggy. Have they sorted it now?. I need a fix before ARMA2

If it has been improved since release and isnt half as buggy, i will give it a go.

Reinstalled Arma earlier in the week, the game really does shine in multiplayer. Im usually on the Silentwarriors Evolution server, upto 40 players cooperating to take down the enemy ai towns on the map. Your rank goes up as you progress allowing access to better weapons and vehicles.

I really forgot how good the evolution servers are, some great players who'll happily spend their whole game ferrying players to the fight in little birds and blackhawks. Being in a group of human players, getting off a heli, covering each other as you sweep through an enemy town is just superb, if you havent tried an evolution coop server i urge you to do so!

Wow now I'm tempted to get hold of Arma before the release of Arma2 lol! Do they use voice comms much? Hopefully they will set up a server for Arma2 at launch.

I never played Arma and cannot get the demo to work at all, not buying the 1st one now with 2 being released very soon (please don't put the release back), really looking forward to this game, is the multiplayer game player v player? i understand the original was player v AI?

I can't say I am concerned about those vids myself. If you watch the Trackir preview vid it becomes apparent that the graphics are very good. I think some of those youtube vids just don't give the visuals justice.

In terms of death animations etc I am expecting an improvement over OFP certainly but never actually played ARMA1. From what I have seen it is all shaping up really nicely. This game is all about the scale. Perhaps OFP2 will offer more in the way of next-gen polish.
