ARMA2 & OFP2 who else cant wait

they have improved the ai but still seems harder for humans to spot them than it is for them to spot us.

still its a very good game and hopes to see u allmplaying arma2 soon coop

You can edit the AI Manually to make them fire more, but be less accurate. Infact you can edit them to do pretty much whatever you want if you have the knowledge to code them.

@D.Roberts - Add me on X-Fire 22infamous - Play in a very large ArmA Tournament weekly which might be your thing :)

This is the one place I think Physx would be really good, and its not there.. I think. Needs Dynamically destructing buildings and masses of AI, Carnage! or maybe I should wait 10 years for the technology to catch up!

I am most definately looking forward to OFP2. I like OFP1, although animations were poor, voices were poor and missions seemed to bug out too easily. It was the sheer size, scope and "mod-a-bility" that made it great.

I then bought ARMA, which i thought was just a slightly prettier and tweaked version of OFP. But again, although slightly improved animations, everything still felt wooden. Animation transitions detracted from the realism the game is supposed to portray.

From looking at videos and watching the Dev interviews on OFP2 there seems to be much more advancement of its genre than the new ARMA2. Codemasters seem to be really keen on keeping the realism from the first OFP, but expanding the areas which let the original, and its spiritual successors down. i.e. animations, player/human/environment physics, AI, Voice acting.

The new ARMA2 seems to be yet another re-hash of ARMA, but I'll reserve my judgment until I've played them for myself

Looking forward to both but I just hope they sort out the AI on arma 2 as it ruins the game when enemys shoot you through objects you can't see through. These games are one for clan gaming tbh.... the more the merrier.

nice will look into it.

i would love to join a clan but i cant as i have to many comitments at home at the mo when i get home rom work me better half goes to work so i have the 2 kids to look after week ends are the only times i have free well somtimes hehe till my machine is finished then im gonna be on that all day.

I've only just started playing ArmA in the past couple of weeks and am quite enjoying it. I'd like to check it out online as even a small bit of human error is good. I'm all for realism although some of the deaths I've had so far have been highly questionable. I wasn't even aware that a single shot from an AK was lethal at up to a couple of miles.

I'm looking forward to both games...ArmA for the sim and OFP2 for a filler until BF3 and Duke Nukem: Forever appear. :P

Its not so much a clan as a tournament made up of individuals and clans playing together in two large Armies. The battles themselves are on Saturdays 6-9PM UK Time so you might be able to make it?

Downloaded and tried out the ACE mod for Arma for an hour last night - hefty at 600mb+ but includes a lot of similar updates to those which made OFP so popular. It includes a lot of addons (I saw a mobile howitzer, HK416 assualt rifles, transferable medic supplies and people talking about booby trp trip wires ?).

If you've played vanilla these extras make this almost a different game.

Thanks - so many mods, so little time. . . . disk is bulging with loads of stuff to try out (esp Afghan/Iraq maps and UK troops/vehicles)

Looking good :D BIS will be getting my money for sure, I played the original and resistance for a long time, never tried Arma 1.5 though, reckon it's worth it or just wait for the new one?

I'll look at Codemasters OpFlash but don't have much hope for that aspect.
