Army of the Dead

I completely missed all talk of this until the new trailer popped up on a youtube video yesterday - it didn't actually reveal the title at first so it looked like a typical heist-with-a-bunch-of-misfits/reprobates before it became obvious it was a zombie film. I suspect the trailer will be more enjoyable than the film but I'll still give it a watch.

This one's notable for Chris D'elia being in it, then he got publicly cancelled after filming, so they CGI'd Tig Notaro over the top of him :D

The name kinda implies some supernatural type shenanigans but having avoided everything to do with this film just saw the trailer with my wife...her first reaction "oh a typical bank heist action film but with Drax"....nope! :p

1st 15 mins online until tomorrow.

Looks fun.

Weirdly the quality is a bit off which seems an odd way to promote your big film, dull, bad tracking, fuzzy resolution etc, have tried on the Tv and phone etc. The non netflix youtube channel versions are the same.

Edit **
The official Netflix one has disapeared, but the joblo one is exactly the same ( dubious) quality as the official netflix channel. Strange that the kings of streaming are so bad at err streaming. Its like they pointed a video camera at a Cinema screen and pressed record.

Maybe they employed the transcoder that did the Game of Thrones Battle of Winterfell to upload it ?

Not expecting miracles but looks good enough compared to most dross that comes out from the zombie genre.

Don't think this will be as good as Snyder's remake of Dawn of The Dead, but this does have a more "arcade" like feel to it so will be closer to Zombieland anyway.

Pretty damn entertaining movie. I thought the ending would have been different for some reason ill explain my thoughts when I'm back at the pc in a spoiler tag.

A new take on zombies/10

Loved it

When DB was talking to his daughter after the helicopter crash, I was hoping he turned quicker and bit his daughter. Then either the next scene or a mid credit scene would be those two walking up to the boarder of California. However, seeing whatshisname appear from the ground back in LV and clearly going to turn in Mexico after he lands in very densely populated city that would make for a great sequel.

That was a fun 2.5 hour watch.

What happened to Geeta, all the effort to save her and we didn't see her get bitten or dead at the end.

Great film, it was exactly what I expected it to be.

The ending was so-so but not enough to ruin the experience for me.

I'll give another watch for sure.
