Army of Two

Finally a game where you just kill stuff and don't have to run around collecting ****. Very Gears of War, nice touches. Controls will take me a bit of getting used to, but they aren't overlly tough.

Liking what I see a lot.

Told you it was like GoW minus the aliens :D

Is it worthy of a purchase then or just rent it? Whats the SP like or is it aimed at CO-OP?

If I was to just play single player I'd say rent defo. Co-op this will be one you play over and over with friends/FL just because it's fun to play and to get the achievements etc.

I like it a lot and some may say i'm hard to please ;) My early impressions are very much like GOW, simple cover/duck system. Aggro works really well.

If your into co-op then it's a very good buy imho.

Edit put it this way I see this as a game I will co-op with many different people from here and real life just to keep playing through :)

Cheers mate, makes sense.

I'll have to see how many of my PS3-owning chums are getting this, otherwise I'll just rent it.

Never really fancied this but I have to admit it does look rather good now. Like Inoshishi I'll also probably wait to see who gets it on PS3 before I choose my platform. If a few PS3 owners on here are going to grab it then I may take the plunge though.

We need an official "who's getting the ps3 version" thread :p

Honestly, playing through and thinking about it I don't think I'd buy this for the PS3. I don't mean that in a PS3 slate way, just it wouldn't hold you for long enough.

I'm not a score whore but this is one game I've played where I see the benefit. I'm already thinking next time I play I will try X weapons and nail the achievements for doing it etc.

The PS3 currently doesn't have that so I see one play though and your done with the game.

Where as when I'm playing through again going for the weapon achievements I will be doing it with friends to make it more fun.

There's no real incentive on the PS3 to do that.

I hope that makes sense and doesn't seem like a PS3 slander post, cos everyone knows I want one. Infact if I hadn't have blown my expenses on a new lappy for the Mrs I would already have one :D

Your not a 360 fanboy/PS3 hater, you don't have to explain yourself mate :p

I know exactly what you mean, only reason i'd BUY this on PS3 is if my mates had it and we did CO-OP.

Looking at my shelf and seeing what I have half-complete, plus what's due on my pre-order list, this is going to have to be a rent for me.

I think I may get this after Ive played through the new GRAW2 packs. Watched the IGN review and it looks very good, Ive been watching it for the past few months but there has been no gameplay vids until last night

Got the PS3 version runs really well im enoying it so far i done training the first mission and the proper mission after that in Afghanistan.

Anyway a few minor grievances with training it says you are using rubber bullets well i dont think so somehow. Also you have to shoot people in the training well blood squirts out of them then they appear dead. Not really realism is it you wouldnt be killing anyone in training scenario let alone killing someone with rubber bullets lol.

Also another annoying thing is the AI can be absolute useless so many times they get themself into trouble or when trying to drag you away they only drag you into line of fire. Apart from this it is really enjoyable and i cant wait to play some co op with a friend it definitely designed around that. :)

8.0 Presentation
From the menus where you buy and pimp your guns to the story that covers conspiracies and political intrigue, the presentation of Ao2 is quite engaging.

8.5 Graphics
Large character models, detailed environments and striking explosions add to the action on the battlefield.

8.5 Sound
Voice acting is excellent, even with the frequent cursing, and sound effects bolster the action.

7.5 Gameplay
As a single player experience, the game is somewhat hampered by AI and unfinished elements. As a co-op experience, the game starts to really stand out on its own.

7.5 Lasting Appeal
The single player experience is pretty shallow, and you won't return to it once you've beaten it. Co-op and multiplayer, on the other hand, will definitely extend the fun factor.

7.9
Good OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)
