US: Arrow - Season 3

I tried to get into watching this after reasonably enjoying Seasons 1-2, but with Season 3 it's like you have to watch the Flash as well, or you miss stuff? is that right?

I attempted to watch the Flash but wasn't keen tbh, so if watching both is necessary I may just bin the whole thing :p
 
S3 was poo compared to 1 and 2. I've said it before but I S3 suffered because I don't think Ras Al Ghul made a good bad guy. Deathstroke was a constant presense, he was behind so much that happened to Oliver and was always working on his plan to bring him down. Ras turned up in a few episodes and apart from occasionally sending some assassins didn't really do much.

Maybe the killing formed part of it as well, an anti-hero is a more interesting character than a squeky clean goodie two shoes. I will give S4 a watch but if it looks to be going on like S3 then it will be canned. I have plenty of things to watch that I know are good.

Yes. And the fact that meant the Flash's younger audience started to then cross over and watch Arrow too is whats ruined it.

Series 1 was gritty and down to earth. Oliver racked up a pile of bodies every episode, had deamons to fight, and 500 people died in the season finale. But now that all the kids are watching nobody can die, even the people who are already dead, and its cool, everyone and their mates can be super heros now, join the club, lets all have fun...

This exactly. I hate to say it but Felicity needs to go - and now it looks like she has a new sidekick for comedy lol's so no chance of that happening. Weirldy, I miss Roy. At least he was messed up. I can't take Thea seriously at all. Diggle needs to lose that helmet. Laurels Canary call is literally one of the stupidest things I've seen on TV.

Sorry, just having a massive rant about the direction Arrow has gone. No doubt I'll keep watching though haha!
 
I think its gone in a positive direction sure its a major change from season 1 to now and people will be transfixed on the darkness factor but its not what green arrow is or who he becomes.

There is still death and darkness in the show same with flash even just not with 100 body counts piled up every episode.

Look forward to both shows returning :)

That's what I was getting at earlier when I said I liked it more when he killed but knew it did not sit well with fans. Because Green Arrow is not a killer, so it was inevitable that it would get lighter as he developed. I still preferred him in the earlier days though :)
