Ashes of the Singularity Coming, with DX12 Benchmark in thread.

Oh boy, someone grab the popcorn. This is about to get ugly :D

Disappointed with the mutli GPU scaling for both vendors.

As far as I can see no one rebenched multi GPU tests with new version, because at least anandtech still has weird pairings they used in old article.
Because I still don't see fury x+ fury x, but see some other mixtures. I doubt that devs would enable mixed multi gpu and not same model MGPU support in newest version.

the thing is Ashes devs were pushes quite a lot of new updates in GBs in recent months. Nice to see them hard at work to put out best product they can make.

Thought I would see how my Titan X faired and indeed it is good for AMD in this DX12 game

1080P Crazy setting

1080P Extreme setting

It would be good to see some other results from users :)

Edit:

Ahhh I see I am still on the older version and the new version isn't available to those that bought it yet :( I will retest when the update is available.

Is there another more up to date version to download or did you try just with new drivers? Id like to try this out.

I realised that mine is still 0.82 and not 0.85. Hopefully the update will run tomorrow and I will retest. At least I have a placeholder to see what is what :)

Can't find anything about it but I do hope it is tomorrow :)

Aparently tomorrow it most certainly is.....what time for the UK though I am not sure. I know Steam Sales used to update at 6pm UK time. It will be good to see this update in action on users machines with cards from both camps.
:)

the hotfix driver - which ahs nothing to do with ashes in it? that special driver?

from the Extremetech test as quoted.

Test setup and performance:
We tested both the AMD Fury X and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti in a Haswell-E system with 16GB of DDR4-2667 and Windows 10 with all updates installed. AMD distributed a new driver for this review, Nvidia did not — we used the WHQL 361.91 driver, released on 2/16/2016 for our performance testing.

How else would you interpret that , special drivers, see :p

Fingers crossed. I do love my rts games and I'm dying to test this.

For any AMD users interested the new 16.2 drivers are apparently giving better performance for this. Thanks AMD matt for heads up.

Do the 16.2 drivers fix anything else or is it just AOTS that is included for this update?

I think it's kinda nice that AMD has a new driver for this AOTS update....about time they released a driver first IMHO :p

All benchmarks released so far are here

Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.2 Highlights

AMD has partnered with Stardock in association with Oxide to bring gamers Ashes of the Singularity – Benchmark 2.0 the first benchmark to release with DirectX® 12 benchmarking capabilities such as Asynchronous Compute, multi-GPU and multi-threaded command buffer Re-ordering. Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.2 is optimized to support this exciting new release.

The SteamVR Performance Test: we are pleased to report that our Radeon R9 390, Nano, and Fury series GPUs are all able to achieve 'VR Recommended' status, the highest achievable level of experience possible. In addition to that, our affinity multi-GPU feature is already showing significant performance uplift over a single GPU on Radeon cards in the aforementioned benchmark

Yeah there's a lot of fixes but you'd need to check out the release notes for them all.

Here are my comparisions from Fury X to you, same resolution and settings. We are closely matched, let's see how next patch changes situation.

Well as the AotS bench changed, and now uses the async shader well, they needed a new driver for it...as Maxwell don't really benefit from that i doubt we will see a big jump from NV with new a driver.
But i could be wrong.
