Ashes of the Singularity Coming, with DX12 Benchmark in thread.

Kaap keeps on top of them very well.

I might well get this but not my kind of game really.

Me either but curiosity got the better of me on how overclocking would affect things

Founders will be able to give out beta keys, so if you are on the fence wait a couple of months and people like kaap and myself should have a number of keys to dish out

Kaap doesn't do Windows 10. He did mention why upthread.

If it is about the secutity stuff, if you actually read the EULA, then you would see that the disabling games and viewing files stuff is only for hosted microsoft services and the windows store.

You can also use a local account which disables cortana and the majority of the suggestion based search tracking. it also disables targeted adds.

Sounds cool cheers and I will take you up on that if you don't mind?

I was on about running the benching threads bud.

I was planning to start a thread once the game hits Beta, it's currently Pre-Beta. Of course, happy to leave that to Kaap if the community would prefer that he manages it. :)

I will have a look at starting a thread in a couple of days when I am off work.:)

Few test on the AMD Latest Beta Driver 15.8

AMD 9590 @ 5mhz R9 290 1285/1500 All setting high with MSAA x4

15.7.1

15.8 Beta

15.7.1 All setting high with MSAA x4(Temporal AA quality off)

15.8 Beta All setting high with MSAA x4(Temporal AA quality off)

Make of it what you will. :)

5820k @ 4.625, 980ti @ 1480/7600 for that run
I have no idea when the release date is, I only really signed up for founders to get the benchmark running

it was about 30-40% GPU bound, the CPU and GPU scores were within a few fps of each other

I really want to test other settings but it simply won't let me do anything other than the default settings at the mo - I have a support ticket in, it looks like the setup didn't create a settings ini, the only thing I've not tried is a complete reinstall

do you mind posting a screenshots of settings and result screen? Because right now whatever you are saying doesn't make any difference to us trying to test on identical settings. for you high is whatever game gives you, for me high is everything at max, and since I already fiddled with game settings, I have no idea what the game had by default.

It is interesting how you are more GPU bound with Temporal AA off when using 15.8 Beta. Yet you are getting more FPS. it says 9.8% GPU bound compared to 20% for 15.7.1

you can select "high" from the presets at the top and it will reset it to what the preset is
I can now select settings, so you tell me what settings you want to run and we'll go from there

Think he/she is also after proof so to speak :p

if Kaap is doing a bench thread at the weekend I'll wait and see what settings he settles on before doing many more runs and uploading images and such
I have just done a run at the same settings as the last page (everything on high with 4xmsaa) and got 45fps that i'll upload in a minute

I keep seeing comments about nVidias "underwhelming" results compared to AMD in DX12 yet no one has actually linked to something showing anything other than the top end cards pretty much matched which is entirely expected...

It was expected that using DirectX 12 would boost performance for both AMD and NVidia cards. Asynchronous Compute is one of the bigger features of DX12 and the 980 Ti should have been pulling ahead of the Fury X if it bloody worked!... Looks like NVidia have completely ballsed up the whole "closer to the metal" thing with DX12 by keeping their major Async Compute issue quiet. They shouldn't have DirectX 12 plastered on their packaging!

I spent £500 on my GTX 980 Ti which was a great price at the time.... Not sure what to think now after seeing a much cheaper AMD GPU with older architecture matching it in DirectX 12. I can only hope NVidia find a way to sort things out and surprise everyone (I am doubtful though).

It's one game in a genre that has been pretty much dead since the 90s, this will probably be a best case scenario for AMD so I'm not surprised they are milking it for all its worth. We'll need at least half a dozen DX12 games to be released before making judgements on relative performance, many of which are likely to be GameWorks and won't be tailored to any advantages AMD's may have. Even if AMD's async compute is way ahead AMD are so useless when it comes to developer relations that they won't capitalise on it, they'll just sit on the sidelines whining about how NVidia are paying developers not to use it or some other nonsense that their owners can bash NVidia about.

I'm sure those Korean gamers who earn ££££ playing star craft 2 will disagree with your complete whacked out opinion on RTS

All with DX12

1080p, "high" preset (msaa off, TAA mid, terrain shading samples mid, everything else high)
this is the one that extreme tech had the 980ti and FuryX both performing around 45fps avg.

Custom; Everything on High, MSAA 4x

I would keep an eye out for Kaap's benchmark thread!
Running the same settings as reviewers I am getting 20-25% higher results with a good overclock, so I wouldn't count the 980ti out just yet :D

Nobody should be buying a DX12 card yet, so you kinda played yourself tbh.

If you go by what's written on the box you'll be disappointed frequently.
