ASRock 775Dual-VSTA for Conroe (Core2) with both AGP/PCI-E and DDR1/DDR2 support

Just wondering what sort of PSU power i would need to run a system such as:

e6600
256mb x850xt AGP
2gb XMS C2 ram
Sound Blaster X-fi fatality
120gb SATA hd
and 1 or 2 cd drives

i currently have a 380w one and i have a feeling that isnt going to be enough. i am looking at the OCZ modstream 450W one though as that is within my budget

I hope this isnt against the rules

does any body know anywhere that this board is actually available, I have checked all the places I tend to use, and no one has it

if you know of somewhere I would appreciate an email

my mail is [email protected]

If possible please dont use my registered email for these boards, I try to keep that address for very limited usage

Edited:-- oh my, I even out did myself on the spelling mistakes front with that post

Anyone know any good in-windows memory timing tweakers that work with this board? MY old socket 939 Opteron let me run A64tweaker which was a great timesaver over having to keep rebooting to get memory stable overclocks....... anything like that for this board?

I need a cheap but good card like a x1600 pro till d x 10 cards come on but all the ones i find are not compatible. All list 16x pci e so am i limited to those listed on website or will most work regardless? Concerns me as not much money. Is it worth just getting another agp card again as my 9800 pro was great until it died

all of these 16x pci-e will work with the motherboard (and other pci-e mobos) but on the dual-vsta at slightly reduced performance (something like 10-15% or so from what i can gather from other posts)

Having read through this thread, I have a couple of questions if anyone knows the answers I'd be grateful, as I should be getting one of these boards along with an E6600 tomorrow.

I haven't come across a thread that mentions VIA chipset drivers. Do you need them or does XP pick up most of what you need? I assume you'd just need the Realtek Hi def audio driver and possibly the LAN driver.

It seems like BIOS v2.10 is the most stable, is this true?

I've seen a few threads about changing the PCI bus speed to either 117 or 119 if you have a PCI-E card. Do you need to do this if your not running your system overclocked?

Do you need to install the SATA driver(via floppy)when you install Windows if you're not using the SATA drive as your C: drive, ie. just using the SATA drive for storage? I haven't had to with other boards, but just wanted to make sure :)

Thanks in advance for any answers to the above, and if you have any other advice to make the install of Windows easier, or general advice on settings to make my system stable, please feel free to post them please.

Cheers, dagwoood.

Via's chipset drivers are called Hyperion, and I've installed them and have no problems. Recommended! Realtek HIDEF Audio drivers are what you want from Realteks website which is updated more than Asrocks.

SATA is like other boards, only install the drivers if youre putting windows on it.

I havnt got my PCIE at 117, mines locked at 109 and my FSB is 290. 100% stable and puts my E6600 to 2.6ghz :)

Running 2.10 also.

i had a few issues anbd changed some bios settings before it picked up my ide drive strangely. i selected the bit in ide settings to non-sata on the 2nd one down then 1st sata drive to sata.

then re-booted and it picked both drives up.

i updated to 2.4 bios and have experienced no problems, but i am not overclocking :)

can't really do much with a tnt2 64mg card i doubt :D

Hi all, I've just got this board set up with a Pentium D 805 and 1Gb Corsair 5400 DDR2. So far it's great except one thing; I can't find out how to get optical or coaxial digital SPDIF output from it! Does anyone know if/how I can? I need it for the media center DVD playback.

Also while I'm typing, I've got my Pentium D running at 160 fsb (3.1GHz) without any problems, but going any higher and after post I get a message saying some file is corrupt. Is 3.1GHz as high as I can expect with this board? If I can get higher, does anyone have any hints?

many thanks
