ASRock 775Dual-VSTA for Conroe (Core2) with both AGP/PCI-E and DDR1/DDR2 support

Does this board now support DDRII800? I only ask because the Anandtech review states:

'We actually found the DDR2 memory performance to be very competitive with the other boards, although support is limited to DDR2-533 and DDR2-667. We just received an updated BIOS that allows greater DDR support and improved timings'

And, the ASrock site states in the BIOS release 'Modify Memory Code' on the 2.0 release.

I'm in the middle of phasing this board out of my rig, i.e. swapping my DDR for DDRII, my AGP card for PCI-e (will make a small profit on RAM :)). I'll be buying GeIL Ultra 2Gb DDR-6400C4 so was wondering if I can set 800(I know it will work in 667mhz mode). So anyone with the latest BIOS can tell me......

It will use it but it won’t run at 800 and it will only run at 667 MHz if the fsb isn’t overclocked.
I have my fsb set to 300 which seems to be the fastest this board will go and at that speed have to set the bios to 533 MHz mem for the system to boot 1:1 cpu:mem ratio. I have crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA804) running at 3.3.3.9 1T which seems to be all this board can offer.

Is there an instance where the RAM would run ~800Mhz due to higher FSB?

Dont get me wrong I still use the dual/vsta boards, I'm using one to write this and there's 2 more in systems around the house. What I meant was that my gaming rig (the one with the Inno3d 8800gt in it :D) is now a Gigabyte DS4 with e6600 @ 3.4ghz and I dont propose limiting my new card to 4x pci-e and max cpu o/c of 2.6ghz just to test it ;)
Given the stopgap nature of the Asrock I dont suppose most dual/vsta users would have a 16x pci-e system lying around spare to flash their 8800gt via anyway.

Having problems with DDRII on this board, if anyone could help me out? The problem is anytime I get anywhere near the stated frequencies/timings I lose one of the sticks and drop to 1Gb. Please help...

Been looking through this thread as I've identified this board as being one of my upgrade options. So far it seems to be the best way forward for me, as I don't (or haven't in the past) upgrade my system much, every 5 years is enough for me.

This is what I'm considering right now,

E2140/60/80 - undecided as yet, but will be an E21xx
4CoreDual-VSTA
Radeon 9200SE 128MB agp card
512 + 256MB of PC2100, DDR-266.

The graphics, memory, and drives are all to be transferred from the system I'm currently using, along with the case and psu. The only area I'm still not sure about is the memory, some places say the pc2100 will work, others don't mention it at all.

Any clarifications would be welcome.

Yeah, I just got some DDR2 RAM, and can only get it running a 305Mhz (610Mhz). I've got to try harder I suppose.

Merry Christmas!

You got any further? Also, what BIOS revision are you using? I've just flashed to 2.20 from 1.60 using an old stick of 256MB DDR1 so I'm going to give it a try as under the release notes it states "update Memory Code" or something similar so I'm hoping it makes it work. Otherwise I'll have to RMA the RAM as I've got no other board to test it in.
