Temperatures?
I know that Intel CPU's were supposed to run a little hot but I've just nearly had an heart attack when I've checked my temps
I've just installed one of these boards with an E6600. I'm running at stock everything on a stock cooler, and the Intel thermal analysis tool is saying I've got idle temps of about 45° and if I run the TAT stress test, I've had one core hit 67° with the other a couple of degrees lower
I've had the HSF off twice to make sure it's sitting correctly and to apply some AS5, but my temps are still pretty much the same.
I know that the thermal limit for one of these is 85°, but should I be concerned/go looking for solutions with these sort of temperatures? I performed a search of this thread but couldn't find anything pertinent.
Cheers, dagwoood.

After making my original post I've since found out that it's common for the IHS not to be level and extra TIM normally helps. I've been a bit more generous with the AS5 and it's lowered the temps by a couple of degrees; hopefully when it's settled in my temps will drop a bit more.
Is there any that's not a core temperature monitor, as I could then make a better comparison of what my old CPU ran at compared to my new one.
lease refer to following steps to fix this problem.
