Assassin's Creed Origins

Slowed right down on this now because it’s so huge. I had been doing every side quest I found but I think I didn’t need to do that? Instead I should have just done anything with a question mark on the map?

I’m now going round the map doing those bits I missed and then will go back to the story. I think I’ve only opened about half the map as well!

It’s ok, my second least fav AC but I’d much rather play a black flag 2.

I hit level 40 by doing things too slowly I guess and not finished the story. Can't see the point in continuing if my efforts aren't being rewarded.
I'll wait until Tuesday and start Kingdom Come Deliverance.
Andi.

Good game, but it is huge, I did a lot of side quests but then got bored after a while, I just finished the main quest and have not played it since, I would put it at no3 in my favourite AC games, No1 being AC2, No2 Black Flag.

Yeah I did about half the map doing each areas side quests and ignoring the question marks. I now think that was a mistake for 100% completion and have started clearing all the question marks before I move on further. I've not done much of the main story at all and I'm now tempted to open the full map up and then put it down for a couple of months (im level 39). The size is great and the RPG nature is decent enough but I liked the others for unlocking areas and generating money. Combat wise I have done nothing but mash the trigger or headshot from afar with a bow.

Very rarely use a smoke bomb, where in previous games I'd use the full arsenal to clear out camps, send them berserk and fighting each other etc. It looks great but it doesn't feel like an AC game to me but hey at least it doesn't have feathers!

I got all the achievements, and enjoyed the process. I got to ride around on a high definition chocobo.
I think it has the best story end of any AC game, it seems proper and meaningful.
I'm looking forward to playing the DLCs (waiting for the second to come out).

Same, it did not feel like it had many silent sneeky approach assassination missions, because everything feels more open in this, it seems to make the player go in bows blazing instead, where as AC 2 which I think was set in Italy, had a closed in environment that made you approach missions differently.

Im about as casual a gamer as can be thesedays but bought this cheap last week and can't bring myself away from grinding through it.

Was a totally random buy too as have never owned another assassin's creed game . The ancient Egypt setting and story is really good so far. Even if the game isn't as polished as it could be it looks like it's going to make up for it in content?

I don't know why but I find these sprawling open World stories hard to follow. Maybe it's because it's so bitty and you end up doing main story missions miles apart...

Obviously the crux is revenge on the people that
Killed his son
but I killed 'The Crocodile' last night and as I did it Bayek said "Sorry old friend" and then there's was a cutscene with a woman who had literally not been in the game before...

So I read what happened, and it turns out because I snuck up on them and used double assassination I missed the fact that 'Kensa' had defected to work with The Crocodile. I seem to miss all these things by sneaking around killing people from above.

I gave up and just held skip on everything until the last assassination. Finished the main game now and just on mop up. Still loads to do but it's not that interesting so I do it in small bursts.

I said I wasn't going to bother with this one but I have been offered it for £15 so surely it's worth a try? Only AC game I really enjoyed was AC2 and not really regulared the series since. Dabbled in ac4 and syndicate

I played it to death and enjoyed it.

That was a few weeks ago and already I can barely remember the storyline.

Son dies, get revenge - Cleopatra is a two-faced bitch etc etc

I started it last night but only for about 45minutes to an hour. The opening isn't very strong and it's already throwing a lot of information at me in terms of gameplay mechanics and just loads of icons on the map that I feel a bit overwhelmed already :D I'll have a proper go tonight and try and take it all in

Bought this a few days ago on offer, thoroughly enjoying it. Really like the setting, very pretty looking game and for me, just the right balance of open world based action vs RPG. I very rapidly grow tired of 'proper' RPG games where there's so much to keep track of, upgrade etc. that I find them more of a chore to keep up with than I enjoy them. For me, this gives just enough of a reward for progressing without getting bogged down into stat watching/grinding.

I haven't played much yet but reached level 6 so am taking on the first main quest. A big compound with a bloke to take out. I don't really get how you are supposed to go about it though. I tried getting in and taking everyone out on my way to him but there are just so many people is that essential? He also seems to be walked around by his own group of guards so not sure how you are supposed to do it without being seen

You can do it any way you want but in general in the game, you want to avoid taking on groups of people really. If you go at night, you may find he's asleep and so you can creep over the rooftops to get at him in his bed, avoiding a lot of the guards. They're also much slower than you so my preferred tactic for those sort of areas is to lure a few in, run away across the rooftops and then shoot them with arrows from a distance. Get yourself a decent bow and it's much easier. You don't need to empty the compound of everyone though by any means. You do need to get next to the body and 'confirm the kill' which takes a couple of seconds, so you'll not manage that if there are guards hanging around his body, you'll need to kill them.

Firebombs and sleep darts are your friends in this game, the sleep darts especially, they'll put near enough anyone to sleep leaving you an easy kill.
