Assassin's Creed Origins

I've pretty much 100%'ed this (as far as story and achievements are concerned) apart from the arena which will be done shortly. Still plenty of side quests left, the scale of the game is huge.

Not sure how many hours i've put into it but it's much more than 50, i'd say probably heading more towards 70-80. Cracking game, easily the best AC so far imo.

It says hours put in on the start game (saved game), when I look to see how many hrs I put in, I think to myself I could have used them hrs for something more constructive, so I try not to look, think I have about 39hrs on this so far.

I enjoyed black flag but none of the others. Is this one a bit off the beaten track compared to the others?

This is more of an RPG really. Very Witchery like. I wasn't a fan of the other but this is excellent. Bear in mind that it's a bit boring to start with and you have to stick with it for a couple of hours. I nearly gave up but I'm glad I didn't now.

Oh ok sounds interesting. Worth a punt then :)

Do you send people off on missions to collect money and stuff like the others where you send Assassin’s round the globe? Or call in reinforcements like brotherhood?

Nope, it's just you as Bayek, and occasionally Aya running around doing assassins things. With a tiny, tiny little bit of the modern day guff and a bit of ship combat thrown in.

Keep thinking I'm getting near the end, then realise how much more map is still hidden, and how many quests I've skipped :S Glad the enemy scaling is in now so going back to replay them is fun.

Finally got the platinum trophy after 70 odd hours, the last few of those spent grinding out trinkets for the 'sell 100 trinkets at once' trophy, as I hadn't read the trophy list until near the end of the game and had been selling them to any merchants I had met, d'oh. Brilliant game though, and enjoyed every minute of it, just waiting for the dlc now to continue the adventure.

Without spoiling anything, does this game have any of the terrible present day stuff from the other games?

I've finished the game and the present day stuff takes up about an hour so it's very minor. There's quite a bit of extra stuff you can read but I skipped all of that and it has no impact on the main story.

Phew that sounds good, thanks! In the past I have found they try to be too heavy handed with that stuff

Don’t like the new combat mechanics so far but giving it time only a hour in. Hate using the bumpers and trigger for block and strike compared to using buttons.
