Assassin's Creed: Unity

One fix I found for performance issues is going into offline mode in uplay.
Once I did that I got a solid 60fps everywhere with all settings maxed except shadows (which were high) and fxaa

This is at 2715x1527 resolution (DSR x2)

Its not ideal because you can't do some things like boost your character and a few other things because your not online but I would rather have a solid 60fps than online bits anyway.

My specs are 4770k @4ghz
2x 970 @1405mhz
8gb ram.

The fps does tank to 30 in certain parts though and only these parts

all the parts in the different time periods when atimos is tracking you eg the world war 2 part and the medieval part

One last thing every time you change any graphic setting quit the game and reload. If I change a graphic setting and don't my fps tanks

I'm running this at 2560x1440 with a single gtx 970 at ultra settings and it's running ok. As per most games setting it to a bordeless window makes quite a performance increase.

Tbh it's better than I was expecting after all the bad press. I'm not seeing all the issues Total Biscuit was seeing.

No idea what the fps is but it smooth enough. It jitters a bit occasionally but is perfectly playable.

Tbh I was expecting a slideshow at 1440p ultra settings but so far after about an hour it's been fine.

Having recently completed Black Flag and AC3 and now making my way through Brotherhood I was looking forward to this one.

I've played it for around 90 mins and it's actually pretty good. With all the attention on the bugs, and there does seem to be plenty of odd things going on, the meat of the game seems good. I like the movement and the graphics and scale of Paris is impressive. Note, I've got a GTX 970 paired with an i5 4690 - I ran in offline mode as this seems to help the framerate according to reports. Only one small slowdown, the rest of the time it seemed nice and smooth. 1080p, Max'd everything apart from shadows and FXAA.

I'll probably go back to completing Brotherhood and hope this gets patched over the next few weeks, though in reality it will probably take months.

As an aside, I got my two boys Lego Batman 3 - that shipped with broken controls using Wireless Xbox controllers so I couldn't even it play it with them. Thankfully someone proposed a fix on the Steam forums - with TT Games releasing no patch to correct.

wanted to ask @those who are playing (or should that be trying to play) it with AMD gpu's, are you using the 14.11.1 beta drivers &, if so, does that help any? ....it's meant to improve performance?

I am. It made no difference to me at all. I get around 30-40 most places but it drops to as low as 24 quite regularly. Weirdly, I get highest fps in action scenes and scenes with lots of NPCs!

Nice, So it is UPLAY potentially causing performance issues then on the PC, Have you tried it in that church thing that seems to have the random slow down for no reason? Wonder what authentication the PS4 and XBOX have that may be causing some performance issues.

Obviously they still have the graphical issues to contend with and the ground breaking bugs.

My guess is the amount of syncing with the servers it's trying to do. I had the exact same issue with NHL on the PS4, the game dropped to a slide show until I disable sharing usage stats.

Don't know why they cant collect stats locally then upload when they sync saves at the end.
