Assassin's Creed: Unity

I have done a about 5 hours or so now and I have not seen any more bugs than any other game tbh. There are a few but nothing major or like the videos posted.

Technical issues aside, and there are many and they are unforgivable!, it is the best AC game since Brotherhood imo. The missions are so much better now that you have some freedom. Sneaking isn't perfect, but it is serviceable, and much needed.

A few things:

1. Whilst the story is ok so far(better than Black Flag and 3, though that isn't hard!), I am very disappointed that the revolution is barely being touched upon. So many great stories and characters being wasted:(...at least it actually makes sense and follows this time though, unlike the usual Ubi garbage.
2. I don't like that they have taken quite a few abilities and moves away from you from previous games...Arno would lose very quickly in a fight against any of the other main characters!
3. There is a VERY obvious twist coming. They aren't even trying to hide it.
4. I honestly don't think much care has gone in to the gameworld compared to previous games. Paris seems a bit bland, and the English accents don't help matters at all. It is Paris, but it could be anywhere tbh.

I've played it for the past hour or so and other than two characters disappearing during a cut scene I've not had any other issues. Using TXAA destroys the framerate as I expected but with FXAA it's more than playable and looks great.

Granted that's with an i7 3770k at 4.5Ghz, 16Gb RAM and a GTX970.

what are the settings that are meant to kill this?
Atm im playing 1440p with mostly ultra high on, but with only fxaa and its hovering at 45-50ish

Also not had any issues with textures, just a disconnection from the online crap every now and again

I was going to buy this, but reading through this thread it seems the release is almost on a par with The Evil Within.

Has any patch been released yet? Worth playing on 1080p?

Is there any way to set the render distance? Everything that appears to be in the distance isn't rendering properly whereas everything underneath me is. Pic showing what I mean in spoiler.

Just played it for the first time after getting past the ACU.exe stopped working bug been playing for about 2 hours and thou i'm not getting a solid 60 fps its never been lower then 40 and normally hovering about 50 on my 980 I must be just lucky :P after seeing the ubi fourms :P

So I was about to buy the game when I saw Ubi have put microtransactions into place, It's a single player game and yet they have the audacity to put this money grabbing garbage that no one likes into an already broken and buggy game that costs £39.99p ?

I could fully understand if they were giving away this game for free and this was their only source of revenue but the game is already expensive, This is just pure greed no matter what way their PR department try to spin it.

EA tried this with Dead Space 3 and they got ridiculed for it and rightly so, Microtransactions should never ever be put into already expensive single player games even if they have online capabilities, It's just plane wrong.

+1 if I hadn't got this game for free I would have been more miffed
