Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Fod HDR saw someone post about cranking contrast up in NVCP to max, then within the game paperwhite at 800 and Exposure to around 1.5. Using it on OLED and does look better for me with those tweaks. HDR not quiet up there as Odyssey, but think that may the color pallette of that game is much brighter in general. Still with those tweaks, for me at least now find HDR okay, much better the SDR either way. Hopefully we guide from HDTV test or something.

The water is certainly better than the Thames in Watch Dogs Legion, which looked absolutely awful. Not sure if it was due to the settings I was using...

I played a couple of hours last night and enjoyed it so far. HDR seemed to work fine for me...and works well at 32:9!

Water in legion is linked to screen space reflections. Turn that setting down too much and water will look horrible. With Ray Tracing on the water in legion looks better then Valhalla imo, but without Valhalla does a better job without.

Hmm, I was lazy and used Geforce Experience to choose the settings for me. Might need to tinker a bit.

I will check my SLI rig later, but I doubt it. Did not have SLI in recent AC games, and given way SLI is going doubt they would have it here.

Would be much appreciated if I can get some feedback from someone with a similar set up. I didn’t have an SLI set up when playing the previous games so I didn’t actually know about the previous incompatibility with SLI!

Okay, you just sit back and wait for the email to arrive instead of even spending a minute to try it... :rolleyes:
What? I am sorry I did not make myself clear. I spent far longer than a minute trying to resolve this but it seems the problem is widespread and AMD as yet are not responding to emails. Hope that clarifys things for you.

Well you did state it was weeks ago you logged in, had you stated that you had logged in during the last couple of days it would certainly have been a lot clearer.

Maybe its a settings thing in that case both look great to me!

The HxD fix for ultrawide cut scenes works, tested on 21:9 with no probs.

Link <---- to post with full info

This leads to Hor+ scaling Cutscenes without Black Borders.

  1. --> Open HxD

  2. --> Press Control O

  3. --> Choose the Game's Exe (''ACValhalla.exe'' in \Uplay Folder\Assassin's Creed Valhalla)

  4. --> Press Control R

  5. --> Go to Hex Values (on top)

  6. --> Search for 39 8E E3 3F and change it with 8E E3 18 40 (or other resolutions)

  7. --> Activate Search direction all

  8. --> Press Change everything (bottom middle)

  9. --> (Should change 22 values) Go to the top left and save it where the normal exe is, changing it with the old one. If you have problems, just repair the game via Uplay.

  10. --> Now do the same with the second Exe (''ACValhalla_Plus'')
21:9 Resolutions:
2560x1080 = 26 B4 17 40
3440x1440 = 8E E3 18 40
3840x1600 = 9A 99 19 40
5120x2160 = 26 B4 17 40
6880x2880 = 8E E3 18 40

Some Cutscenes are Pre-Rendered and won't be affected by this Fix, however there are only a few Pre-Rendered Cutscenes! Pop-Ins are luckily also quite rare on 21:9.

I have no way to test this Game in 32:9, if someone can test these hex values it would be great!

32:9 Resolutions:
3840x1080 = 39 8E 63 40
3840x1440 = AB AA 2A 40
5120x1440 = 39 8E 63 40

Games brill, 10+hrs in got a few nice skills and the combat feels much better
