Assetto Corsa Competizione

Just started getting into sim racing again after a few years and in the process of upgrading my old G27.

I was playing PC2 quite a bit but started ACC and it's been my go-to for the past week or 2, only just stumbled over this thread now.

It's there a certain skill level required for the organised races?

No certain skill level required. We just ask that you race fairly and rejoin the track safely if you go off.

More the merrier :)

Here to help if you have any questions.

Just joined the silverstone rookie league race on Thursday night as I haven't really drove silverstone much. What kinda lap times would I be looking at to have a chance?

Depends on the conditions but Pro class will be just dipping in to the sub 2 minutes on race pace I'd imagine.

Rookie class - depends who's driving, could have someone who is quick but not raced online much.

What car are you using? Silverstone seems to favour the front engine power houses like the Bentley / Aston and good aero cars like the Macca.

Top tip: look at the event page on simracing.gp, under configuration it lists the weather. Try and match that for your practice session so you can get the right tyre pressures

So far I'm using the ferarri evo but I'll go try the Bentley and Aston as well see how I get on, still haven't even tried the new beemer yet either!

Thanks ill go have a quick look and try match the weather

A mate comissioned me to do some official liveries for his ACC team, so I thought I'd share here.
2 down, 3 to go. Still got the Bentley, AMG EVO and McLaren 720S to do.

The music was a happy accident lol. It just happened to be playing on youtube when I recorded.

Hi
I've just found out about simracing.gp thanks to you guys. Sounds as though it could be of interest for my absolute rookie level.
I entered my email address in the simracing.gp sign up page, got a confirmation email, clinked on the link within the email and was taken back to the simracing.gp front page.
It wants me to enter my steam account name and password. Is this correct? Is it safe?

Yes it is safe.

Just joined simracing.gp is there any particular community to join for noobs? I've just been be doing the rookie races from within the game.

Also I drive with assists on for now as literally have less than 10 hours in it. Could someone explain how the green speed indicator works? I know when it's red i'm going too fast but when it's green it's either flat or slightly raised?

I've just joined the rookie series starting on Thursday have a look there

Thread 'Rookie Series @ Various Tracks - Every Thursday' https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/rookie-series-various-tracks-every-thursday.214325/

I take it that a paid subscription is needed?

I'm sure everything is above board, but as I'm just getting in to sim racing I've obviously never used/heard of these sites before. I really should read into it more to get a better understanding of what they all offer.

@swannyUK I had to withdraw from the last race at Silverstone due to RL commitments, I checked out the pace times though... I may need more practice haha

Yes but it isn't that bad at 15 euros per year I'm sure @swannyUK helps run the site he could give you more info if needed. I just renewed my sub after it ran out a month ago so much better racing than the in game races where you get wiped out at the first corner every race
