Assetto Corsa Competizione

How do I get off public servers? Had 4 maybe 5 races tonight cut short by mid pack pile ups witin the first few corners. I'm by no means fast, usually come mid table but i've only been playing on and off for a month and public servers are getting a bit annoying now.

I would also recommend joining a league. I joined a small league run by Box3 Motorsport. Look them up on simgrid and twitch. We race every Sunday at 8pm, very clean racing, usually around 20+ cars on the grid. I’ve only been sim racing for around 2 weeks now and love it

I've just bought ACC and all of the DLC content. Just waiting for my T-LCM pedals to arrive and will then hit up some laps :)
Does it work like iRacing where you start in the Beginners category and work up? Once I've done some practice I'm looking to join GT3 races.

Free for all, the only dividing line is the safety rating (SA), which goes by racing incidents per clean lap ratio. It's fair to say that you'll get the odd don't care what they do racers more in lower 30/40 rated servers more, but 80+ servers have more entitled drivers that'll mow you down if they get a sniff of it, safety is never the concern. It's extremely difficult to drop below an 80/90 rating if your a competent driver, so people just hammer it regardless.

The only way you really resolve that is to have servers that are 95+ which nobody does, the only way you stay above 95 is with very little racing incident unless you've built up a solid bank at 99 which you won't do if you go through the back of people.

Public lobbies are hit and miss. Sometimes you get a really decent lobby, other times it’s like bumper cars.

I did a few public races and then joined a league and race most Sundays in a championship with a proper community discord. The racing is very clean and there’s usually 25+ of us in each race. There will always be incidents but there aren’t dick heads that just ram you off the track.

They stream the races live on twitch and one of the guys does commentary for the streams. It’s mostly Americans and Canadians but there are quite a few British and EU drivers in the league

I've switched to playing this now instead of iRacing.
  1. It's a lot cheaper as the cars and tracks are all included (with a few DLC packs)
  2. I prefer racing GT3/4 and iRacing needs a B License for the shorter GT races. I'm at C and can't see a fast, cheap way to get there :(

I had a good battle with a Bentley on Spa last night, they just held off on the last lap/corner, see video below. Managed to win my first race earlier today - really helps getting pole position to avoid the first lap carnage. My legs were shaking like crazy on the last lap :D

I love the sound of the Merc GT3 on fly by

Just had a quick race in VR around Monza. Not played in a while and wow, they have fixed all the image issues it seems. It looked gorgeous and smooth in VR with high details. I just have to get some practise back in as I came 10th. I would have been higher had it not been for some idiot ramming me at the start.

You using a wheel?

Recently fallen in to the M4 trap, the car just snaps in to corners and drives over everything allowing for mega aggressiveness. Playing ACC more than ever before, holding down nearly 20hrs a week now signed up with LFM racing most nights.

Even on public servers there's some awesome races to be had, you'll often end up with a top 10 of more than competent racers within seconds of the leader.

Yep - currently a G920 but have ordered a Fanatec CSL DD and McLaren GT3 wheel.
It’s not shipping until late April though :/
Lovely, i am currently re-shuffling my man cave and getting rid of some stuff i dont use/want anymore to make room for a fanatiec CSL DD Pro(the PS version) that i will intent to order soon.

Its in stock now. Only the load cell pedel i would need to wait until end of March.

The rest already is in stock (the 8nm bundle) Would you have considered the DD pro bundles? It is exactly the same as the CSL DD you are getting but comes in a bundle.

I already have some load cell pedals, so just need a better base and wheel to replace the G920.
Have looked on eBay but the CSL DD 8nm is typically going for about £150 overs :(

Brushed off my much neglected G29 to give this ago and I can firmly say im an Arcade racer. Had to turn off the FFB it was literally breaking my wrists haha. I couldn't complete a wet lap at the start of career mode in the lambo, just insanely difficult. I even struggle in the dry. Too sweaty for me, not got the time or passion to learn proper ECU setups and what everything means. Back to Forza :p

Had a really solid stint at online multiplayer last year but then had a race not start after quite a few failures to get into the official servers (I had good stats/ranking and was clicking the buttons quickly).

not touched it since. If this new DLC had been free (I’ve bought all the others) I would have given it a go but not really touched the GT4s and have other games/non driving sims to invest time into.

It’s amazing but I just need to find my mojo again

The Safe preset is a good balance, you can get decent competitive times with it. You just have to drive slow to learn the track initially or race the easy AI and follow their line, your gearing will come.

@swannyUK here organises races with varying skill levels, worth checking out as it's always decent.
