Assetto Corsa OcUK TT Challenge! *Season 3*

Yes. I must say I'm not its biggest fan.

About to fire up the PC for what may be one of the last sessions in earnest with the Logitech MOMO. It's been a good little wheel over the years and I'll be keeping it as a backup.

Petey, I won't need that power brick after all - he's found it! Thanks all the same matey, much appreciated.

Is the server currently MIA? Finally got a chance to play and the ingame server browser is claiming there are more than 1800 servers (which sounds suspiciously high), none of which are the OCUK one :(

I put a "banker" lap in on the server. 5:38.
I know the first half-ish of the circuit pretty well now but still made a couple of mistakes despite trying to keep it steady. Still not at all comfortable with the last section though, from the top of the hill onwards. Lots to do.

It's there. Might be your filters.
Yep, it was my filters. Done laps in the gtr, lotus and the transit.. Although annoyingly the lap didn't get reported for the van. The Ferrari is hard work, its really on a knife edge and so unforgiving. Yet to manage a complete lap in it.

I've tried the GT-R offline (it was the first car I tried on this circuit) and had a nightmare. I've tried it again since learning the circuit a bit more (in the Ferrari) and I'm sure I was even worse! The thing needs a foghorn and a helm. :D

Funny how preferences vary.

A big part of the issue is that you spent a lot of time in a formula car before jumping into the Nissan. That's never going to go well :D
Start with the slow ones if you plan on driving more than just the really quick cars.

Yea, that's 20 years to undo. :p

I can do tin-tops on mud but it doesn't tend to go well on tarmac.

Bah. I managed a 5:28 on the server, or at least I think I was on the server, but it doesn't seem to have updated our table. PB so far is 5:25 (offline).

I'll see if I can squeeze a quick session in tomorrow before it changer over.

The time wasn't valid.
You can check by using the dropdown list and checking the box

Ah, cheers Petey. I wonder why, I didn't go off anywhere. Anyway, I'll have another bash tomorrow, I had a good session tonight and I'm a bit frazzled. :)

Great fun though, the last third is coming together a bit now.

Edit: adjusting the front bump stops up a couple of notches makes a difference to turn-in/understeer.

Load cell and accelerator now working again, however - my brake pedal is still physically sticking which is causing the load cell to register up to 10% load when my foot is off the pedal.

Try and sort it out tonight hopefully.

I'll call it a day at 5:26 I think. I have gone faster but need more time to build consistency and learn that last third properly - I'm still winging it a bit around there. :)

It's been another good week and great fun learning Nordschleife in a fantastic motor. What's next, Petey?

With the new season of Formula e starting soon, does anyone know of a mod for the new cars? That could be good fun if we can find it.

That sounds like fun. :D

Edit: bah, just looked them up and they look far too much like a Radical and not nearly enough like a recumbant cycle.

No worries, Petey.

I don't mind which circuit we do, whether it's something new or something familiar, but can we have something a bit shorter? A ~10 mile lap is a lot to learn in a week and my cuppa was getting cold after a few laps.
