Assetto Corsa OcUK TT Challenge! *Season 3*

Apart from the very remote possibility of doing the Isle of Man, I don't think there's any danger of that.

Yea, I thought I'd mention it just incase there are any others I might not be aware of. "This week we're doing the Bring a Packed Lunch Speedway... 40 miles, 300 corners...". :D

lol it's the first time we've ever done anything other than a normal length circuit and I did say that there was a reason I never put it up before.
No need for concern :)

:D

Smashin', ta.

Edit:
Been having a look at the picture mode and thought I'd post a snap as a memento. :)

I downloaded the Ferrari 643 from the link provided (post #957) but the .rar refuses to open or unpack (using 7zip), just giving me an error. Is it corrupted? Or am I missing something?

Use winrar, or better yet, install content manager. It's a far better launcher and you can install mods by simply dragging the zip into the main window and clicking the three horizontal stripes next to the minimize icon at the top right.

If we keep doing the full ring everyone will know it and it won't be a problem :D haha. As much as I love the circuit, it's a long distance to cover without making mistakes in an unfamiliar car to improve lap times on.

Pondering track combos, have we done the full Lemans Sarthe circuit yet? With a bunch of fast cars that could be pretty enjoyable despite it being a relatively long circuit - not many corners to have to learn compared to the Ring. Perhaps a bunch of various Lemans cars over the years? GT40, Porsche 917, a group C car like the 787B, maybe a modern GT3 car (since I know a bunch of people like them), or one of the hybrid prototypes? Probably worth leaving it a few weeks to not overdo it after the Ring though!

Thanks. I haven't actually played AC for many months - but that Ferrari looks ace so felt like firing it up.

It's a beaut, isn't it? Sounds great too with a spine-tingling growl.

Yes, I'm definitely be up for Nordschleife again now that we've had a decent crack at it. It's a belting circuit. I feel sorry for anyone who's new to it though - it's a lot to learn in a week.

As for Lemans, I'd be up for it. It's not nearly as much to learn for as Nordschliefe as you say. I know it reasonably well from Grid, and the 737B too. Obviously Grid isn't/wasn't the simmiest of games but it was a hoot nonetheless.

To be honest I just assume that every sim racer knows Nordschleife, it's pretty much a right of passage.

It's not a circuit I ever tried properly. The length always put me off, as the actress said to the bishop. I think I had a brief go many years ago but I can't even remember which game it was. Still, I've had a crash-course this week (figuratively and literally) so most of the learning is done now, thank ****. :)

I did have a crack in the transit, but it must have disallowed my time...not had much seat time in the last week life just gets in the way sometimes. Hopefully get back on it this week.

Well done to @Paddyqwerty1 for his times in the Lotus and Nissan last week. Nice times.
Shame (for me) that I never got around to getting back in the Lotus for a crack at you...

Round 24 - Silverstone GP

  • Williams FW14 >>DOWNLOAD<<
  • Porsche 919
  • Porsche 917K
  • Ginetta Supercup >>DOWNLOAD<<

Apologies for the delay.

The Ginetta has been updated, so you'll need to replace your existing version if you've already grabbed it in the past.

This :)

"Right of passage"? I guess after 20 years sim racing I've finally come of age. :D

Silverstone should be fun. Never forget the first time I heard the V10's exiting luffield as I walked toward the circuit from the campsite during practice. The hairs on the back on my neck still stand on end thinking about it.

Edit:
My blummin wheel and pedals didn't turn up today as I hoped. Tomorrow hopefully...

I'm going to try a few laps in the Ginetta first. With huge emphasis on "try". :)

Thanks for organising another week, Petey. Another cracking circuit and selection of cars.

Edit: I think they changed Silverstone a bit since I last saw it. Didn't they move the start/finish line and alter the Bridge/Abbey section some time ago?

Edit2: Yes, it's changed a bit. I'll pick it up again tomorrow, I'm already a few ales in. Time to prep drivers and possible firmware updates for the new wheel which should hopefully be arriving tomorrow.

A ~10 mile lap is a lot to learn in a week and my cuppa was getting cold after a few laps.

Buy a DrinkPod mug ( usually costs around £11-£12 )

Holds more tea/coffee & can keep it warm for hours with the lid on, and an hour or so with it off.

Essential for long driving stints :)

Lol, Great idea. Has to be lid-off because I sometimes have a sip on the long straights. I was thinking of getting one of those USB powered "warm plates" but Petey has promised no more expedition-length circuits so I should be ok. :D

I'm definitely going to get amongst it this week guys. Fired up Assetto and been modding like a crazy man since Sunday. I love Content Manager :). Just been doing the BTCC 100% AI career mod, loving it.
