Not sure whether to buy a cheapish wheel (DFGT?) or splash out on a g27... I can't even drive yet

I wouldn't buy a DFGT brand new. Grab a 2nd hand one for around £60.

If you like it then upgrade to a G27, Fanatec CSR, T500, etc... later on.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, is there anywhere that's specifically good for 2nd hand wheels?

That looks very awkward, look up gtomega racing and their line of cockpits and ebay as I know there are a few sellers of theirs on there.

I'd say to get a wheelstand pro and an appropriate chair unless you want a proper cockpit.

I just bought a t500 and this game. It's an absolute hoot! So much fun to be had in the 98T formula one car on 1966 monza.

thing is, I've got a living room.. with wooden floor, big tv etc but no sofa just loads of beanbags.

cockpit would be better, having a chair around + wheelstand is probably going be a little cheaper but I wonder if it won't slide all over the place on the wooden floor.

I have a wheel stand pro that came with a G25 I bought but can't use (it's too short for my desk, so I have to sit too far back from the monitor)

On a related note, I bought a G25 but other than checking that it works I haven't actually used it properly yet

They may cost more, but they are far more cost effective that paying £200 for what is effectively a £10 fabric folding chair... with a naff bit of tubing for the wheel stand.

If you've got the space for a cockpit you'll never regret the purchase. Buy right, and you'll only need to buy once too.

How do people rate the Speedmaster sold on overclockers? Or is that never going to be back in stock again?

As I said, i've only just got myself a wheel and this game, and I'm totally hooked already. I've just got the wheel clamped to my pc desk for now but with the forcefeedback it makes my whole desk move and the monitors wobble like crazy. Definitely going to get myself a cockpit for this. It's well worth it.

Its been ages since I last played this, mainly to the bug I had with my clutch pedal... but that kinda sorted itself out and is responding the way it should now...

I was watching a guy play it yesterday and he had some really cool addons on screen..

I think it was a Tyre monitor which relaid the tyre temps and conditions.
Also he had a screen displaying Fuel, fuel per lap, laps along with a timer showing his best lap, best current session lap and a real time +/- split.

From what I gathered they were all Python addons... anyone got a handy link for me ?
