Assetto Corsa

I always really liked the Project Gotham Racing series for its handling and always wanted it to come to the PC.

The reason why I liked the handling was because you felt in control of the car especially when you needed kudos. It was also a game where hot lapping was great fun because you could feel yourself getting faster.

The forza series of games I have never played a great deal but when I did I never felt I had the connection with the car that I got from PGR series of games.

of course this is all personal opinion but in AC, do you feel that you are driving the car or the car is wanting you to learn to drive the car. maybe that is difficult to understand.

some games I really liked in the past were:

grand prix 2
grand prix 3 - not so much
Sega rally - saturn
GT sports car - PC (back in the 90's)
Live for speed - only played the demo
project gotham 1 and 3

I better add that some of the games above were made by the same people working at different studios.

I guess the only way for me to get my answer is wait for a demo when the game is released.

thanks

Tim

Haha, I'm pretty bad myself, although it's a great game and I'm slowly getting to grips with it. Here's my effort at Silverstone international trying to beat my ghost.

It'll run fine, probably above 60fps everywhere other than certain replay camera angles.

There's a guide on RaceDepartment's Assetto Corsa forum for settings to use.

What the performance like on this now?

Anyone running it with a GTX 680 at 1920x1200?

What settings and FPS do you get?

Thanks.

When I loaded the game up I just put everything I could on max (except AA, which I put on 4x) and to my knowledge it was running smoothly constantly. I think I saw my fps dip into the 50s occasionally but it felt consistently smooth. GPU was maxed out the whole time though, so I'm sure I had some unnecessary settings cranked up.

Only just realised this was available outside the bit for netKar Pro owners, gonna have to give it a go sometime.

Anyone set it up with triple screens yet? Be interesting to know how the setup is (iRacing is excellent for that, pCars not so much :p)

I get a steady 60fps with my GTX 680 lightning running on an old core i5 750 @ 3.6GHz. Settings are pretty much cranked up to the max :)

EDIT: This is at 1920X1200.
