Assetto Corsa

I have no idea if this is common knowledge or not, but here's some light at the end of the xfire tunnel for those that want or need it.

I've been playing about with forcing the BF4 profile in CCC (targeting acs.exe) and found that for it to work with proper usage and fps to go with it, you need to do the following things:

- Either use max reflections or switch them off entirely. Anything in between will result in texture flicker on the cars.
- Disable onscreen apps. This includes the default bottom row position display. Press F9 to remove it.
You can run the essentials app with no fps/usage drops.
Use your phone/tablet/second screen with a third party hud/dash utility if you want more info.

And that's it. Enjoy :)

EDIT: This workaround is generally pretty good, but it's not perfect.
You may find that usage still drops to around 50-60% with a full grid and it will likely bog down with max reflections in that situation.
In hotlap, you'll get 99% usage, or at least I do anyway.

RUF buy the basic Porsche chassis and "make" their own cars. Apparently EA own the rights to use Porsches in games so alternative games companies have to make do with RUF cars in their games.

RUF is kinda like AMG for Mercs as I understand. The Yellowbird will be a great rival to the F40 in AC. CTR is faster in straight line
,

but F40 is better on a twisty track

Looking froward to this :)

I've had this on my wish list for a little while and it's just on sale now. Should i bother getting this if i'm playing GT6?
I mean, it looks pretty but there's not many cars or tracks by the looks of it.

Ok downloaded the update, I really hope it sounds somewhat like a Porsche..

Edit: Tidied the room, rearanged and forgot where I placed the plug for the G27.. woops!

The Yellowbird is stunning to drive its as close as any game has got to what I imagine a rear engine car feels like, tons of traction and just a general feel of the weight being out the back. The only slightly dissapointing thing is the noise but I'm sure they will work on that.

The Yellowbird is a goddamn handful

Maybe I've been using the GT2/GT3 cars too much but it seems to wallow around the track quite a lot, you can't really point it to where you want it to go. You have to be really careful on the loud pedal. It's rewarding though, the rear feels like it could snap at any time :D

The Yellowbird is an utter riot to drive. Was thinking I was a driving god at first, drifting constantly, but then realised the game had reverted back to having stability assist.
Switched that off and it's back to being an animal like the F40, hugely rewarding to drive :D

Love the new sound of the F40 too!
