Assetto Corsa

Im running this maxed out myself at 3440x1440 with only smoke turned off and getting a constant 60 fps locked.

Im not sure why yours wouldn't look as good as the screenshots. as it should look the same if its maxed out... mine does.

Remember these photso are also done in photomode which does make the game look better too but in game its still pretty gorgeous.

I've given up on AC. It's the first early access game I bought and will be the last.

I just can't get it to run well. Sub 60 fps at Spa in time attack..no thanks. It seems to be vey badly optimised. Also playing with a joypad is awful.

I am now waiting for Project Cars.

Have you played with the reflection mapping options? The high setting are fps eaters, I'm running low settings for these and everything else maxed on my geriatric system.

What graphics settings is everyone using for best bling/frame performance? I have xfire 290s and with most of it maxed out I get about 50fps at Spa, but with 20 cars on track it occasionally drops horrendously. And mine doesn't look as good as those screenshots!

I just bought a G27 (£150 I figured it'll be worth it) so planning to get really stuck into this.

Try reflections on static.

Turn off the car position bar at the bottom of the screen.

At some point they never used to be which is the problem. Rather than fix the reflections and smoke fps bugs it seems they would rther chase sales and licences.

They just can't win though can they? Some people are saying that they need more content, others are saying that they should focus on bug fixes? Perhaps they are doing both, which is why things take longer to get fixed?

I agree about the joypad. Got driveclub and forza horizon 2 for Christmas and iv played Assetto Corsa more purely because a wheel is just 100x more fun.
I wish the G27 worked on the xbox one and ps4.

Content is fine, just sort out poor AI for offline racing and the performance hit when racing against them.

Well, lets just say that AC AI is infinitely better than Gran Tourismo's AI, but definitely behind rFactor2 or Game Stock Car. It is very raceable, has difficulty slider, but is a bit too prone to crash into your rear on 100% difficulty. I just let it pass when I see its "ultra-super-late-braking" attempts, watch it mess up the corner entry and overtake it on the exit.:D

But yeah, better AI is confirmed to be in the works and it would be nice to have, no doubt about it.

I am really enjoying this game, initially started with an Xbox Controller and it works well, although catching slides is tough, I tend to over correct and end up spinning or weaving 1/2 a mile down the road until I have resumed control at a crawl. :D

Now I have recently upgraded to a Logitech G27, and after various tweaking, all good, although I am struggling with the manual shifter for the Logitech G27, I am forever grinding gears! Is it just me?

There must be a knack to ensuring a positive selection (I am likely too heavy handed) with the manual gear selector for the Logitech. Whereas some laps are fine, then there are others where I have destroyed the gearbox. I may revert to the paddle shift and ditch the gear selector altogether. It's the only part of the game I am struggling with - oh and a couple of the cars.

The Ruf Porsche is good fun, although when breaking I am wobbling all over the road, braking in a straight line sure is tough. I dare not go online!

I blame the game. ;)

You are not pressing the clutch pedal fully enough. You can also configure your clutch pedal in the settings so as not to have its full travel range registering and the game will think that you 're pressing all the way when you are pressing 70-80%.

When downshifting you need to "blip" the engine to change gears smoothly.

Enjoy your G27, I love mine :)

I follow one of the devs on twitter, from the sounds of things the next build of the AI is going to be leaps and bounds better. He mentioned the other day that he keeps getting his arse kicked now :p

Time to go try the NSX :D

Yeah I think I've read one of his tweets about AI becoming much more aggressive, but imho it also needs to become much more aware, otherwise arse kicking would really turn to arse slamming if you know what I mean ;)

NSX is awesome!
