Assetto Corsa

dare i ask which is better. I'd settle for whichever has the best sounds Ford GT, Cobra, boxer

I've played over 170 hours of pCARS since it first became available and I have a senior toolpack. Which means I've invested €100 into the game as well as time and effort testing and reporting bugs as well as uploading reference photos for tracks.

I played the early tech demo of AC and I've bought early access today and played for 2 hours.

In terms of physics and FFB, AC is better.

Visually I'd give pCARS the edge, just.

In the audio department, AC is ahead of pCARS. But I think AC is further down the development road than pCARS.

In terms of content at the moment, it's a win for pCARS. But no one knows the final car and track roster for either game so AC may well catch up.

The other advantage AC has over pCARS is anyone can buy and play AC, you need a tool pack to play pCARS and you can't buy those anymore

I'm falling in love with this game :)

What are peoples views, I want to find a racing game that handles the realism and is also fun. Enjoyed shift but not shift 2 (drift mechanics). I use a pad and quite like game feedback ie current lap time against previous lap time, the more the better. I didn't like live for speed as I personally didn't like the handling of the cars with a pad. Is this game worth a try?

It works fine with a pad ( I'm having to use one atm due to knackering my back so I can't sit down ), but it can be a bit of trial & error / tweaking to get it set up.
It's still playable enough as it is though.

The devs are aware of a few issues with control mapping & pads and it should be addressed in the next update.

And it's basically only hotlapping for now as AI & online haven't been addded in yet.

I've had this since it launched and was disappointed at first but I'm really liking it now.

Graphics are as good as pCARS in my opinion (replays look superb), it runs great and the physics feel very authentic. FFB is a little weak and lacking detail for me but it's still very good overall.

Hotlapping is getting a bit boring to be honest but new stuff and improvements are being added all the time.

I really need to set up my wheel with this but it plays so damn good with a xbox pad I keep putting off getting my wheel out, but of course it is inevitable I do, what I'm saying it plays great, wheel or pad and vibration is active for pad.

should have left music out tbh ;)
With me, it's always the music which comes first and inspires me to go through the editing stress. I think that's a great tune. :-)

Nice drifting in the lotus there :)
You wouldn't say that if you knew how long it took to get a few "right", or if you could see the end of the clips. Very few had a happy ending. AC is a great sim, but I am definitely not a great driver, despite AC's excellent, informative FFB. :->
