Assetto Corsa

PCARs has (had?) 70 people team, AC had 10 now has 15...

I think AC could succed on consoles as is, there are a lot of mature console gamers who may want to try the more nerdy/hardcore/niche approach to racing. Or maybe Kunos will lock all cars& tracks and force them to start with Honda Fit Fiat500 and unlock everything GT style ? :D We shall see :)

I don't know how big the pCARS team is or was, but the budget was still very small. I think I read somewhere that AC has now sold 300,000 units on PC, so Kunos should have the funds to employ more content creators. They have the base of the game in place, it just needs padding out with content and a more focussed single player element. The MP needs a bit of tweaking as well.

Would I be right in saying that they don't pay for a lot of their licences content anyway? I thought that they try to form partnerships with be licence holders, rather than just paying for it. I also believe that they shared the cost of laser scanning the Ring with iRacing.

Kunos has partnership with Ferrari for whom they make simulators for road car development, and they also make Formula Abarth sims for racing schools in Italy, but apart from that they are on their own. Not sure about splitting Nurb fees with iRacing, but they did say that Lambo licence was acquired by a traditional brute force - tons of money. So, apart from Ferrari (which is huge of course, but still) they haven't invented a new way of getting licences.

Another top mod got updated today - Nissan 180SX. Scratch made by the owner of the car with all the measurements from suspension etc. Stock version is a cool alternative to the M3 E30, the tuned S2 version (which the owner has now himself) is a M3 E92 beater - just set the diff to 15-20%. Really cool car!

Downloading this again, since reinstalled not long ago. I see there's a new Skyline on one of the mod sites, think it was ACmods on facebook, has anyone tried it? If so does it sound like it's meant to with the BOV? The Skyline prior had its BOV sound activate at 3k RPM which was wrong.
