Assetto Corsa

The Vette is awesome! Nothing like the M3, quite nervous and snappy, but not too much - great fun!

Lots of tracks have been updated, Nords has an all new road surface with hi res graffiti, Silverstone has new stands, lots of kranes, tents, trucks etc etc

The fantasy desert track has a one mile stretch with broken up very old tarmac, nice workout for FFB :D

New backfire effect is how it should have been from the start:

Finally, I can use the 64 bit version without it crashing and hardlocking my system  Rock soild framerate starting at the back of a 24 car race at Spa.

The new cars are nice and the backfire effect is cool, not convinced by the reworked and improved tracks though, look just as plain as ever.

If anyone has a DK2 & Virtual Desktop then you can play AC in 2d with headtracking using Opentrack & its Oculus plugin.

Better than nothing until Kunos sorts out better VR support.

Use the Oculus runtime switcher and set it to 0.8 instead of 1.3/Home.

Opentracks' Oculus plugin doesn't support runtime 1.3 yet so you need to use 0.8, which SteamVR still supports.

You might need to mess around with seat positions & the fov a bit, but it's still better than on a flat screen with no headtracking.

Forgot you'll also want to turn off the 'Desktop Theatre' mode in the AC properties in Steam before starting it, or you'll end up sitting in a cinema looking up at AC on a big screen.

Any tips for a newbie? :D

Just bought and downloading the game with the dream packs, playing on a G29.

Not really, set graphics to the max, all assists to off (ABS to factory setting), replay fidelity to max setting... and enjoy! :)

EDIT: I've not changed my wheel settings over the last few months so cant say if the current default profile is ok, but if you serach G27 in this thread you'll find a few setups that you may try if the default one is not to your liking.

In cockpit view, the left/right buttons on my wheel don't actually move the view left right but on outside car view they do

Any ideas?
