Assetto Corsa

New patch today again
1.5.5
- MODDING: BRAKE_POWER_MULT setup option is now correctly expressed in % and can be used for modded content
- Fixed typo on Lotus 98T soft compound slipangle value
- Fixed Lotus 98T engine limiter sound for higher rev limiter than default
- Fixed bad naming on Lotus Exos S1 medium and hard heat curves
- Modified Drift cars steering lock.
- Bugfixing and optimization on Imola, Silverstone, Vallelunga, Spa, Black Cat County circuits
- Improved smoothness of AI driving style
- Improved collisions in multiplayer
- Improved AI fuel planning strategies
- Fixed tatuusfa1 at vallelunga hardcoded achievement
- Added bonnet and bumper internal/external sound switch on Volume App

Collisions are MUCH better now indeed. No more ping-pong cars.

In memory of Jim Clarke who tragically died this day in 1968 at Hockenheim, I've dusted of AC and run a few laps round historic Monza.
How he set those lap times I just don't know.
Man is a true legend, amd an underrated one at that.
RIP Jim.

PS The new patch is awesome ☺

Love this game, still cant drift for croop

Just pick Toyota gt86 with economy tyres on slow/old tarmac surface and try to floor it on the exits while controlling oversteer with the wheel. Then progress from there :) If you have relatively fast wheel (g27 etc) it should become natural pretty quickly - as far as drift basics go anyway. 100mph drifts are a different beast with controlled understeer that flows into oversteer - I've no idea how people pull them off

I just started playing this again this evening, now I've got g29 and simple racing setup. Spent about 3 hours modding it, it handles so damn nice. Got some new sounds and replay cameras with quite a few tracks and cars, it looks and sounds incredible now. I was in heaven watching the replay of my 458 gt2 around Spa, the sound is just epic.

I've been playing AC again lately a LOT and I have to say that the multiplayer is now SO much better since the update.

I was playing last night online from around 9pm and lost track of time, after 5-6 great public sessions with no rammers or 1st corner pile-ups which I don't find happening that often which is nice I finally finished when I realised it was 2am

Great fun though and the game just keeps getting better.

Chasing that sub 8min dream in the Mercedes-Benz 190E EVO II. I love this car!

It is a great car.

Some advice on achieving that sub 8:00 lap - get to the outer edge of the track before a corner. You're losing oodles of time by braking and entering corners from the middle of the track. I know it can be a bit scary to get to the outside edges of the road, especially on a narrow, precarious track like the Nordschleife, but it's absolutely crucial in order to carry optimal speed into and through a corner.

There's some exceptions to this, but it's the way you should treat 90% of corners.

Cheers for the advice :) I am aware of how to use the entire track, but the problem (for me) with the Nordschleife is remembering the layout after the carousel. I can remember everything up to that point and try to use the track as efficiently as possible, but after it I feel like I'm on the brakes much earlier than I should be because I can't anticipate the next corner.

More practice is required :)

Yea, the track is largely about getting to know its in's and out's very intimately. And each car is a different story.

I just did a couple laps on it earlier with the 190E and man, it's good fun.

Another good suggestion for you is to change the gearing. Knocking the final gearing down a few pegs so you're not topping out on the fast straights as much will give you quite a bit of time.

Any ideas on how to stop the exposure changing in the game? Particularly at the ring! I can see sky but the actual track is so dark and washes the detail out and I can see?

Can these effects be disabled?

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try!

I've been trying the Lotus Evora GTC recently around the Nordschleife, and it's a totally different experience compared to the 190E EVO II. It has a lot more downforce and better (modern) tyres, but it still provides a good challenge.

You can turn exposure down/up with PgDn/PgUp or num+/num- keys - I cant remember which.
