Assetto Corsa

Anyone using a G920 with this? If so, how do you find it? I read there were driver issues to contend with a while ago but not sure if they've been resolved.
Seen one for a good price so am looking to pick one up to replace my trusty old momo red.

I'm using G29 (which is the same thing but PS4 compatible), no issues whatsoever in AC, lovely feedback. Didn't even have to change any settings like I did with G27 (g29 replaced g27 on warranty- logitech are awesome :)).

I need to get a 3 screen setup for when racing, although with 1 1440p monitor, it's going to be pretty expensive getting 2 more the same model.

I love DigiProst videos, 3 screens and a good setup makes Assetto look boss

how have you guys set up your xbone controllers? i no longer have my T500RS so playing with the controller, but im not having much luck, just dont feel like i have best control of the car

Its not easy to use a controller with AC as the cars feel twitchy if you try and play it like Need for Speed, bascially its all about using the left Analogue stick in a smooth motion.. as no matter what settings you find on the internet none of them will result in smooth steering unless you learn to control the stick.

To stop being twitchy on a controller, try and follow these steps -

Push the stick all the way to the top center.
To turn right or left, rotate the stick around the circumference to the right or left. But never pull the stick away from the circumference.

You should then be smoother, and you'll feel it, and not only that you'll see the if you us in car with the steering wheel shown, the hands won't move around so quickly, it'll look smoother - like it does when using a wheel.

I have DFGT - but when I can't be bothered to set it up, as I need to clamp it to the desk and its hard to then use the keyboard - I sometimes use a DS4 gamepad connected via USB with AC - using that method I can post decent lap-times..

Good luck, and practice with the above steps if you like. Hope it helps you out.

My controller settings(for X360 pad):

Main Controls

Speed sensitivity - 90%
Gear Up - B
Gear Down - X

Then Advanced Controls

I feel this works pretty good. Still need to be smooth in many cases, but I also find I dont have to be ultra careful and can whack at the left stick at times.

Quick vid of me using this just to demonstrate that you dont necessarily need to be super smooth at all times to drive well enough. Note that this lap isn't anything special, but that's because I did this real quick and hadn't found best braking and turn-in points and whatnot.

Introducing the Ferrari F138

It looks amazing. I'm really starting to get into ACR now. It is a better racing simulation then Project Cars.

Now if they just added some day/night cycles it would be the perfect game with a 24 hours race at silverstone, I do love to race 24 hour races (project times so 1 hour is like 10 mins lol) as going from day to night whilst racing is pretty epic in a GT car.

Played a fair few rounds last night on the "League Of Ordinary Gentlemen" server. We did a load of MX5 cup races. Im very very impressed, the quality of racing last night was spot on. It really has taken me by surprise this game, i really thought online would be full of idiots (like Project Cars).

That is what I'm finding as well, and even if they do hit you by mistake or cut and gain, they give it back, or back out of the incident and try and let you recover. And you end up doing the same. It just seems to work better.

Its a lot cleaner then Project Cars, or FM6 Apex on the Windows 10 Store.

had my first online race yesterday afternoon on some random server, was ok. some bumping and crashing into the back of me, which wasn't great , but overall not bad.

whats the best uk based servers to race on?

How can I get the most out of this game guys? It's a wonderful sim with regards to the handling feel, looks OK sounds OK but something isn't clicking yet for me. I downloaded loads of tracks last night, replay cameras, fonesecker sound mods, graphic mods etc, but now that's done the single player campaign is just poop.

What can I do?

I just fire it up for a quick race or a hotlap. Had several races round Silverstone last night in Formula3/Abarth and then kicked back and watched the cool looking replays (remember to use the F2 "random cameras" button). Alternatively there is the mulitplayer and the "Events" which require a lot of studying, learning and practising to pass on Alien difficulty.
I think AC needs to be approached with this kind of mentality, expecting GranTourismo kind of gameplay with unlocking cars is not something that is even attempted here.

Having said that, I think AC will add some gameplay features in time for the console release, we'll see. But, even as is, I've completed around 80% of Forza6:Apex in around 2 weeks and lost interest completely now - no such issues with AC.

On the other side of what people get out of it, I don't do AI at all for example.

I'm either hotlapping on or offline to learn new cars/tracks for fun or practicing for an upcoming series race and then actually racing with a regular group.
There's the odd random server race here and there too.

What do you want out of it?

Maybe I'm just asking to much from it as I've been spoilt by Gran Turismo and more so Forza Motorsport over many many years. Those games for me are the pinnacle of the genre. Whilst they don't handle anywhere near as nice as AC, I feel they are more an epic game experience which gives you years of progression and huge amounts of single players car moments.

In forza I was a top 100 hotlapper on pretty much most circuits and there always felt like there was something else to achieve or chase or do. But Assetto to me doesn't do any of that, it's just a solo hotlap experience with no leader boards.

I popped online and got annoyed at the first corner t-boners and have no intention of doing public races again.

So just need something to sink my teeth into.
