yes thanks,i installed wagnums graphic mod with weather presets and played online fine,the mod dosnt make a massive difference but sharpens the graphics up and makes them a tad better,im LOVING this game :)

just wish all the online races wasn't 20mins practice,20mins qualify then race lol I get inpatient after the qualify and quit,wish people set shorter qualify and practice times :) apart from that though its amazing
 
How are you doing compared to the other guys online?
You say you're new to racing (and with a wheel), so I'd make use of those practice sessions :)

Make sure you have your mirror switched on too (F11), and do install helicorsa.

Very useful and helps you find clear track space to avoid exiting the pit in front of another car and ruining their lap :)

in my first race I got lapped lol but didn't come last and that was before I had help setting up wheel,just now I was first in qualifying and second place was over 13 seconds behind,must have been in a room with fellow noobs haha

whats helicorsa? and where do I get it?

ive now installed helicorsa and think its great,i like the way it only pops up when another car is close,great little app

Seriously guys, you don't know what you're missing :)
You can practice this with AI, but they don't use the slipstream, so it's far from the real deal.

great vid,looked like a fun clean close bit of racing,i just managed a 4th place racing online out of 10 people :) I may of done better but got taken out on a corner lol I do try to race as clean as I can even giving my position away if it means avoiding a crash,accidents do happen sometimes though lol

I must say I am REALLY REALLY LOVING this game,it feels amazing with the wheel and even if I'm last I still enjoy it,not 100% sure I could go back to a pad now especially in sim type races,rally games like dirt rally I could prob still play with a pad though
 
I guess it's hard to break habits.
I don't drive IRL, but if/when I do, I'm sure it'll be hard to get used to right footing it after all these years of left foot brake action...

Got your eye on any particular pedal/stand upgrades?
 
Not decided on anything - at some point will go for something with a H shifter and clutch - need to redo some of the room first to make space for a dedicated setup.
 
What are some good servers to race on?

There doesn't seem to be that many on the sever list. I've been racing on a Monza / Ferrari 458 GT2 one with 20 odd cars which is fun.

I like full servers with lots of people. I have vanilla AC and no mods.
