Assetto Corsa

Aye, I have a DFGT. If I needed a wheel I'd look for a used one of those - I got mine from here a couple of years ago for about £60! They're double that now.

If I had a bit more cash I'd probably go for one of the current Thrustmaster wheels.

I had two G25s. An extra one courtesy of Logitech's excellent warranty system. The first one's brake pedal had a dodgy spring. A simple two minute fix, but opening the pedals voids warranty - an insane situation really which surely costs them loads.

I still have the original G25 wheel but it has no USB plug on (I had to snip and send) I'm sure all I need to do is solder a new one on and I've got a fully working G25 wheel. I'll get round to doing that one day.

You actually sent it? I've never had a problem with simply not sending it tbh, they ship the replacement and they've never got back to me on it, even about a week or 2 later when i spoke to support again (bought a G35s the day they replaced a 3yo G25 with a G27, and they'd lose connectivity from time to time a week into their life, the replacement has been fine for 2y now).

They've always been very good when ive had an issue, sadly ive had my fair share of issues, but then ive also had my fair share of replacements for all of them. If logitech do an affordable product which suits my needs, i'd want to buy the logitech product. It'd need to have solid reviews, i wouldnt buy Logi simply because its Logi, but if there was a product i'd want, i'd like it to come with the level of support they've always given over the years.

Has anyone else tried inverting their pedals? I think the Thrustmaster pedals do it, so basically instead of them being flat along the floor, they're flat to the wall, switch the pedals+pots+springs around so they're in the same place.
I found it much nicer, and i dont have the issue of the office chair casters clanging into a base any longer, they're just mounted to the wall at a nice angle.

Is the g27 or the expensive thrustmaster wheel gonna be compatable with the ps4?
Id feel annoyed if i got a wheel now for this and found out that neither will work on the ps4..especially when drive club shows up.

Uploaded a little clip of my 2nd attempt at drifting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIPF4OekLIQ&feature=youtu.be

Pretty bad atm but loving the game, had a dodgy start lol I have improved since this haha, I also get that last corner near the end :P

It's not easy, is it? :) But yeah, last corner of the vid was good. You should do videos with a cam, to show your actual steering work.

Make sure you read this thread on drifting and catching slides- http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/i...tank-slappers-snap-back-oversteer.3950/page-4
tons of very useful info. Also make sure you turn off ABS and TC befroe every race with Ctrl+A Ctrl+T (press when you're actually in the car and you'll see confirmation). Deselecting them in assists menu is not enough.

I should post my noob attemps at drifting (with DFP) :)

T500RS is confirmed to work with PS4

Logitech G27 is very likely

http://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/sim-wheel-compatibility-chart.289218/

PS Col Rodgers, Game Director on upcoming PS4 racing game DriveClub stated that all PS3 compatible wheels will work with PS4 http://www.simdriving.net/news/all-ps3-compatible-wheels-to-work-on-ps4. Even if that is not an official Sony spokesperson, it is a reliable source imo. Evolution studios is the same dev that made Motorstorm and Driveclub which are published by SCE, so he must be in the loop.

Not easy at all :) Very different.

Uploaded another little clip yesterday defiantly improving. Lol @ around 6:30 tho haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvJd22uli30

Still got some tweaking to do to get the driving force gt perfect, but leagues better than the cheapie wheel.

One thing though... After playing this over 3 23 inch screens, going back to single 27 is just boring.... :(

Yep, definitely improving- in your first vid there was only that nice long corner, in the second you're already stringing some combos even :)

For racing DFGT is almost unbeatable value, this guy holds WR in Assetto Corsa with it for example (click on info button to see wheel used).

For anyone who missed the info on the next update, this was posted on Aristotelis Vasilakos' Facebook page:

"As you've probably have guessed by now, tomorrow update of Assetto Corsa will include the first taste of AI. In order to contain the hype and lower expectations, let's focus on the word "taste".

For this first AI update, we won't give you the complete grid AI enabled. There will only be some special events quick races, with some cars on some tracks that will give you a taste as I said of Ai races.
I know that everybody wants the full monty, but I'm also sure that you understand that we need to test the performance of the AI on various systems, check for bugs, improve it and so on. It is far easier for us to do so on some specific scenarios, than having to control the whole Assetto Corsa grid at once.

We're pretty satisfied with how AI is coming along, but we also want to make it better and that's exactly what we're going to do once the update is out. We will collect your impressions and reports and work our asses for the next update to make them even better and offer you as soon as possible the whole AI functionality. I'm pretty confident you're going to like what you will experience tomorrow and I'm sure you will be hungry for more. Tiny bit of patience and we will deliver, you know already that we are listening and working constantly on this.

As a side note, of course you're going to get a couple of new cars and some new upgrades too, plus a complete rework of our tyre model (yikes!)... it's subtle, nothing too drastic, but we think you'll like it even more.

Ok back to work to put the final touches on tomorrows update, thanks for listening"

Looking forward to this. Wonder what cars we are getting.

Looks like the BMW 1M Series Coupe plus one other. There are a raft of new achievements as well.

I've taken the day off today so will be spending some time simming and designing my new rig :) Just need to decide on a new seat for it.

Nice, I have a half day at work today so can spend all afternoon (wife free) testing it out :D

Seems pretty good so far, from what iv noticed they mostly stick to the racing line but thats only from a couple of quick goes. Very small performance loss too with all those cars on screen i lost maybe 10fps overall. Theres 4 events which have it... the formula 1 event...supercar event...bmw event and the Abarth event and 4 choices of difficulty.
Theres one major annoyance though and it's that they have included the 5 second penalty in races..so even if an opponent knocks you off the track you get the penalty. Very frustrating.
