Assetto Corsa

Right I have issues with this game (and some would say most driving games), the little Abarth 500 SS, 60MPH in 2nd gear with low revs - Is complete BS.

3rd gear yes but in 2nd give me a break! Why do a lot of games do this, its not realistic at all (even for a ss version) and completely breaks the immersion for me. I know its in BETA but seriously gear ratios arent exactly hard to get right!

I think you must have it on KPH, as mine does 60 in 3rd at 2/3rds revs, and thats in the tuned version.

I'm loving this game at the moment, the handling is amazing! I'm new to racing sims. I've tried Iracing and just cant get away with the handling, maybe because I'm a noob. Anyone got advice for Imola? On the Bmw Z4 test the fastest I can get round is 1:47.175. I just cant seem do to any better.

Is this worth buying if I only have a 360 controller to play it?

Absolutely, I play with a 360 pad and it's perfect, the game even lets you set the pad up to your liking but I find the default setting great, I have a wheel and although it is inevitable I'll set it up at some point I just haven't found the need to yet as the pad controls are spot on.

Just been reading back through this thread - and that is very impressive! Hats off.

That is lush!

Thanks very much :) I hope my new r-pod sim-pit comes out as well as the cab. I'm going to hold off starting the build until my Fanatec shifter and pedals arrive. I have some grand ideas though.

Just another recommendation as a compromise between a single screen and triple screen setup, the ultrawide monitor I bought earlier (ASUS PB298Q) is proving to be a great purchase also. Not quite as large as I'd like but at least it doesn't require dual 780's to drive it.

Well i've not posted in here in a few days. I guess you can all blame this game, i've been addicted since getting my wheel. Trying to shave off every millisecond lap by lap knowing where I can improve lap after lap after lap...

Tried out drifting aswell which i've been trying to master. I know a bit about drifting from my Forza days but my god this is nothing like it. Can't explain how much i'm enjoying this game atm with the wheel and AI/multiplayer isn't even out yet!

Managed to get into the top100 on Monza and Magione I think? And not really played around too much with the wheel settings yet so hope to improve my times again.

Only changed setting on the wheel to try out drifting from 900 degrees to 360 degrees turn. Really want to get better at drifting so going to put more time into that :D
