Assetto Corsa

iv been using the G27 setting suggested by the developer.. they have spring effect and damper effect strength both at 100 and you have them at 0...any reason for that?

Also do you know how to get the LED lights on the wheel to work to show when to shift change ect.

They have the Damping set to 100 because anything below does diddly squat. 100 in the profiler. Enables the ingame damping to then work. You only want damping if you need to smooth the force feedback curve out.

I prefer raw feedback myself.

The spring effect should always be 0 its been 0 in every sim I've played. If you enable it, it will enable a canned effect inside the driver that tries to center the wheel. Thats counter intuitive. If your running canned effects over all that feedback how can you feel grip ?

Trust me 101% 0 everything untick everything but ingame adjustment box. Thats how it should be for every game on a G25 G27 Logitech GT, Logitech Driving force pro.

[Disclaimer]This is how I and every other sim racer I know runs Logitech wheels and how it should be run*Apart from LFS where you run force at 106% unless Scarwins fixed it now*.[/Disclaimer]

Thanks for the advice...it does feel much better with them set at 0.
Also regarding the led's I managed to get them working using SliMax but that always seems to crash the Logitech driver.

I was also wondering about in game assists... do you just turn them all off or leave things like abs and traction control on depending on the car ect?

Turned off SGSSAA and now on a full grid I get great frame rates. That is the killer, it zaps my gpu usage. I might try downsampling as a last resort otherwise at 8MSAA even though jaggies are still there it won't bother me as much.

All off from the menu.
Then when in the car press CTRL+A for ABS CTRL+T for incar traction. These are a proper ABS and Traction control system modeled like the real world car. Your find these on the GT3 and upwards style cars.

With overall effects strength at 100% or 101% which I had it set to theres a deadzone in the middle ..but if you increase that to 107% you cant feel it anymore..
Is anyone else using 107% to remove that deadzone?

Set a hotlap today in the E30, managed to break into the Top 100! Happy with that, starting to get sued to catching the slides now. Much fun

Maybe the AI in AC isn't as bad as I thought while playing Monza.

Check out this video, not only does the guy driving go from 32, out of 44, to 13th by the end of lap two. But see how slow the field goes through turn 1.

anyone else experienced this... I was driving on assetto corsa with the G27 and after about 7 laps my wheel just turned all the way to the right and wouldn't move... I could force it back center but the second I let go it just went 900 degrees all the way to the right and I had to reset my pc to reset the wheel...

E30 M3 is probably my most favourite car in AC, congrats!

Was he driving in a different class car? seems a bit too easy, still awesome though :)

Never had, sorry:confused:

Hasn't done it anymore since I took Fanaleds off...maybe that was messing with the driver or something.
I had the same problem with SLIMAX when I was using leds yesterday..it would crash the driver and reset the wheel settings.

Is this game worth every penny? and heard it will have multiplayer at some point is tht true?

Thanks

Defo worth it. Multiplayer and Career mode will come with the game although it is not patched into the game yet.

It's a great Sim and KS have much more complex modelling planned both with the AI and car physics in general. This is taken from posts they have made on the official forum.

You might want to wait as it has been as low as £20 and the Steam Easter sale should be due soon. But even for the full asking price it's worth every penny.

THis game is making driving sims cool again. There are other driving sims, but they are just too anorak in their approach- the graphics, the gameplay, the car selection. AC's unique selling point is that it is that it is second t o nobody (read iRacing, rFactor2, LFS) in terms of physics or FFB or laser scanned tracks, openness to mods etc, but it has modern graphics engine, plenty of cool road cars- not just some slick tyres race breeds as well as single player Career, Challenges, drifting events etc.

This way it appeals to GT and Forza crowd without compromising on the fundamentals - physics and race dynamics (no waiting rubberband AI that lets you catch up on the straights here). THE game of the year as far as I am concerned :)

Multiplayer is coming, but it remains to be seen if its net code matches the supreme quality of iRacing's MP. As much as I love AC, I have my doubts that they will pull it off.

having such a blast trying to tame the Lotus type 49 Such a difficult car to drive trying to control the back end but great fun if you pull it off.
