assistance required

Hi, your list looks good, I'd recommend getting 2 litres of fluid just in case, plus you're cooling motherboard as well as cpu so you have an extra block and tubes to fill.

You'll need 8 of your EK compression fittings, you or your nephew should imagine how your loop will fit into your case and from that you'll be able to work out if you would benefit from any 45 or 90 degree bend fittings.

Good luck and put some pictures on when it's done!

@GIGA-Man Can you confirm that the following use the same pcb layout

Gigabyte 1080 Xtreme Gaming Premium Pack
Auros 1080 Xtreme

All Aorus and Xtreme gtx 1080 have same PCB - sorry, didn't book mark this page . All that changed was branding then, change of the cooler unit after 1080ti launched for V2 of the Aorus card.
The Windforce/G1 cards are the ones that had total redesign with V2 as chip was turned 90 degrees and VRM on the left for a cooler board and components.

Working in on it with Alphacool to get all their versions up to date

@PAULRYAN52
Aorus / gigabyte GPX block should do the trick and cheap ! Alphacool do the units so they quick discounts and can link to their AIO. Or they even do an AIO for GPU. Basically same block but with a pump on the unit.

Aorus/Xtreme are the same board :)

I can't link it, even though Caseking have started to stock their products, haven't here and still a retail/competitor .

Google alphacool GPX Pro /eiswolf 1080 M21 .

As with the above, my card is Aorus 1080 11gbos using Xtreme 1080 block ;)

Although now I have AIO version on it :D

so I could buy their cpu & gpu aio and link them together, what would be better the aio or custom loop

It's each to their own with style , case and space .

I've done what you've suggested here

NwQLPOj.jpg

Or you could go two separate AIO, one for GPU one for CPU. You can connect them up to act as a single loop with dual pumps, if one ever fails or sep units of you every change GPU or board etc

They also have new Eisbaer LT version out, wouldn't chose anything other then 360 version and in some cases does better then standard one ! It's £93 for the 360 uni, due to being thinner at 25mm rather then 30mm . Comes with quick discounts as well .

See review here .

Means you can plunk in your GPX or GPX Pro , with another rad if you want and off you go !

If you wanted it all on one rad, then standard Eisbaer 360 due to extra thickness .

It's cheaper then full custom or EKWB alunialum set, you can reuse the pump block on ANY chipset. And for the GPU, you unmount the gou block from the Aluminium heatsink and buy a new one for the new card .

Will always perform better or quieter then AIO due to stronger pump and rad design, as they have their own factory in China - helps a lot .

If you really want power... Eisbaer Pro. Comes with a D5 pump unit !!!!

Can you buy it as a full aio gpu kit and have a separate custom loop for the mb and cpu or is there any way to connect the alphacool gpu to the custom loop

I believe so, have to check their options but I know I took the last GPX Pro block for Aorus/Xtreme a fortnight ago. Might have more in for full AIO kit for it (Eiswolf) .
Then you can grab Eisbaer or Eisbaer LT if your on a budget - again 360 LT version if your running coffeelake

what connection would I need to connect the Eiswolf to the custom loop, or should I just go 420 Eisbear and Eiswolf

All depends on how you do your system . Quoted the product to use with it, but the connections are 11/8mm hoses/fittings which aren't to common . Most people run 13/10 or bigger , in which case you find QDC for that size .
Easiest solution , you pick up Eisbaer kit and either gpx with extension kit or GPX Pro which has them but is a pump unit aswell .
3rd option is full GPX Pro kit called (Eiswolf ) and either run seperately or linked to Eisbaer loop. There are lots and lots of options . Just depends on your budget , style and complexity

The Eiswolf 420 is beastly !!!! Easily handle a titan and 8700k :)
If you've got the cash, would choose gpx pro over gpx with Eisbaer kit. You'll have second bump and extra head pressure and already comes with qdc fittings

Alphacool Eisbaer Quick-Connect Extension Kit (1013010)

I'm thinking of the same following see if it would work

CPU & MB - custom loop
GPU - GPX Pro Eiswolf to rear exhaust

Here's a quick Example of What layout to take

Looks good, only advantage with dual loops is if one component goes down, easy to carry on with the other or swap out part - with the rule of thumb being it's normally gpu

every Eiswolf I look at doesn't show the rad included, does the pro definitely include block, pump &rad

You'll see the cost , £145-50 is usually the full set , GPX Pro by its self is £90-100
Must admit they don't help with the naming of it all

Yeah, just spoke to Alphacool UK guy, trying to sort out the listings ...

Eiswolf GPX 1080 M21 and Eiswolf GPX 1080ti M21 are the same block !!!! 1080 is sold out as I told last stand alone but 1080ti M21 full AIO is in stock at £145 ...

Read the description and you'll see Aorus 1080/1080 11gbps and 1080ti as compatible

On their website, copy and paste this in search box

Item code

What the block /stand alone looks like. This isn't filled but package with rad is all pre filled

I found one difference between the blocks, and was the same on mine. copies from EKWB which were copied when AORUS publicly took off their coolers to show their cards dont cant fire.
theres two chips in the Xtreme version which are buy the IO Outputs, in the AORUS they are underneath the die- i just put thin pad on the chips- as i dont think the need to be cooled as they dont make contact with original stock cooler - but i like to have a piece of mind :)

ah, wait. sorry mate- found an issue with current Eiswolf blocks! seems they used the Ti version to make both models and the older GPX they used the 1080 which has an extra cap

TI version has a row of 4 caps and then 3- gtx 1080 has row of 1, then 2 rows of three ...

Looks like i'll be taking a Circular saw to the back end of the Eiswolf then!!! just to fit that single cap in...

the old block is GTX 1080 M06 - seems the Rain-forest has one in but costly

if not- phanteks block - states for Ti but they only have the copper block for the first half up to VRM

thanks for the clarification, so if I've got it correct the new eiswolf doesn't fit my 1080 Extreme Gaming

From the looks of it, no. Will double check mine but seems someone messed up and used the Ti as a template rather then the 1080/1070 :(
Sorry mate, just caught it looking at past pictures. Will take a saw to mine to chop the end of the block off . Haven't got a drill press to mill out the cap hole
