Hi,

Has anyone got any experience with the Asus MAXIMUS IV EXTREME?

I found it on a competitor web-site, it costs considerably more money than a Asus P8P67, is that just because of it being an E-ATX form factor and having 4 x PCI-E 2.0 x16?

I think an E-ATX will fit in my Corsair 800D, but is it worth an extra £100+ (compared to Asus P8P67 Deluxe)? If it's a bigger board, does that offer more efficient cooling? Are there any other benefits I'm not seeing? Or is it a total rip-off?

Thanks,
KB.

Got one here and love it very stable the bios setup is weird but it`s growing on me.

well i have gone for the same board my self when its in stock is another question and it was only 6 quid more then the ud7.

a few reasons i have gone for it is the bios just looks great, some people have been getting really good clocks on these boards.

going to be a higher resale value when it comes to me upgrading to socket 2011.

also the board supports so many added features they might be good or totally crap but i love to tinker.

and i have sli 570's so want the fastest ports available.

I'd suggest u look at the full specs of the maximus and compare with the P8P67 think u will find they will clock about the same maybe the maximus pulling slightly ahead

so its up to u really do u want the extra features and higher cost or less features lower cost.

what ever u get wait for B3 nothing worse than taking your rig apart once u got it how u want it.

hey clone what u got it clocked at?

any teething problems with the board?

how stable is the latest bios?

Stock cooler will be getting the D14 when i have the cash sorted the bios i have is 0901 there are newer one`s out there but im happy to stay with this one for now.
No problems with the board at all so far very easy to setup and stable, running to cpu today @ 4.4ghz.

Hey Clone,

Could you be more specific about which G.Skil RAM kit you are using? The "G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB DDR3 PC3-12800C9" in your sig doesn't really clarify it.

Thx mucho!

Tim

OK, thx, Clone.

I almost got those F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL myself. However, yesterday I ordered the F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM G.Skill RAM kit. Newegg had a 10% off deal with free shipping, so I got them for $121.49 total. I only went with them due to their having slightly lower CSA Latency. I'm not sure, and rather doubt, if it will make any noticeable difference. For aesthetics, they kind of destroy the red/black color scheme, though. lol

Thx!

You can run the CAS9 stuff at CAS7 speeds, I do all 24 GB worth. All the same chips I suspect.
