ASUS Rate My Gear Promotion

I know they do it hoping most won't bother to claim but to just not pay out is taking the Michael to put it mildly. Not sure why they think that wouldn't get them some bad press in this day and age.
 
Found an article in a german magazine when they actually ran a 2 page story about 1 guy not getting his cashback (if i can find it again ill post it here). They paid up quick enough after that got published and he got compensation. Maybe thats the way to go

And that is from 2019 so these non-payments are far from something new or a 'temporary technical fault'

Absolutely might get some bad press
But go look in places like Facebook
Asus DIY group for example
Some people are just rabid fan boys
Nothing the brand does seems to bother them
But yeah needs some big youtuber
To give them stick over this

Knowing ASUS and how shady they are, I think you'd honestly you'd be better off trying to convince GN to do another call out video like they did with the melting motherboard bios. Otherwise ASUS won't care, all they care about if their reputation and profits.
 
Has anyone ever had a reply from [email protected] (the Rate My Gear address)? Particually since the link to check the status started redirecting to a "This promotiuon has ended" page?
I've had nothing from my replies to that address, and while [email protected] were quick to reply, they said they couldnt help and just directred me back to [email protected]
Just a little update. I dont know if its coincidence but this morning i emailed [email protected] and polietly asked if they could forward my claim update request to the Rate My Gear team internally as emails to their address ([email protected]) were going unanswered. 3 hours later i got a confirmation mail saying my claim was paid.
The other £25 claim is still outstanding but thats the one they said could take 90 days (its been about 70 at this point)

Not sure just an email from asus

Beat me to it, just had the same email.
 
You can see why they go the rebate route. I bet they only pay out a fraction of it. Only done it once before with MSI and that was a pretty good experience.
It also allows them
To do fancy accounting
Can say they sold £××× amount of gpus
In quarter 1 etc
Then the rebates come off later on
Plus get interest off the rebate money
Until they pay it out
And probably other sneaky accounting tricks too

Yep got one too.
At least they are emailing us without us having to hassle them.
 
Received the same Email, carbon copy of the one they sent when I emailed them chasing.

Presumably they're getting a lot of people emailing so they thought s preemptive email would be a good idea :rolleyes:
