Asus ROG PG32UCDM - 4k OLED 240hz

The LG equivalent on their website is now down to £1,019.99. Further 20% off using blue light card so about £800. Would have preferred this to my new PG32UCDM but can't be bothered to return it, re-do all my cabling on the monitor arm etc for £75.

Does it cover burn in also?

Dont the LGs have different pixel alignment so text clarity is much clearer than triangular arrangement?
RWGB on the newer generation (that's both the 4k 240hz LG and Asus UCDP models, then for 1440p 480hz LGs own model plus both the Sony Inzone M10s and Asus PG27AQDP) so much improved over their first gen OLED monitor releases.

I'd say that the glossy panel on the QD-OLED helps with clearer text compared to a matte finish - but the 4k models are fine for text.

My comparative points from the monitors I've used for a good period of time is that text clarity on a 27" 4k IPS monitor is unmatched right now. It's so so nice to use for anything text related. I've not used a 27" 4k OLED monitor yet, hopefully will be able to grab one this year.

For the rest of the ones I've used, I found that text on a 32" 4k OLED text is ever so slightly clearer than text on a 27" 1440p IPS monitor. From there, a 24.5" 1080p IPS monitor has ever so slightly clearer text than a 27" 1440p OLED (specifically the 360hz QD-OLED monitors with a glossy finish) - and then the 'first gen' wOLED 1440p 27" monitors are bottom of the stack. I found the text clarity almost unusable on those particular monitors.

Doesnt specifically say that, but rtings review says no burn in after 6 months.
I asked LG specifically about burn in on that monitor and they said no burn in warranty.

Also the speakers on that panel have changed now. it's no longer the "pixel sound" just a couple of small speakers in the bottom of the screen. I had one for a week, didn't expect that much but they really weren't good at all, though better than no speakers on the PG32UCDM :)

Depends on the model you get. The 95UE has pixel sound speakers, the 95UV has regular small monitor speakers. There was around a 150 quid difference when I got my UV.

Good point I should have qualified the model differences. Can’t seem to get the UE in the UK anymore and sometimes I forget this is a globally used forum :)

Yeah, seems they've made the UV model the main option now across the UK and Europe. Towards the end of last year both were available in the UK on an OCUK competitor, the rainforest and also via LG directly - but definitely looks like for 2025 it's only the UV over here now!

Such a good deal. I've got one on the desk at the moment and it looks amazing. I think UW aspect has ruined me a little bit so I'm finding it a bit tall, and not wide enough to properly sit 2 windows side by side for work (web dev) so it's probably going to end up going back too :( Thought about getting a 32" IPS to sit next to it, but that's too much right... right? :D

It’s a great deal. I’m a bit worried about the magenta that people have mentioned in reviews, but for that price I think I’ll get over it .

For your use case it’s never too much :)

Magenta as in the whole "in a light room it looks purple" thing? Everyone is different of course but I find that once I'm actually looking at the content on the screen I kind of look through it, like rain on a windscreen and forget it's there, and even then that's only when my room is exceptionally bright. For sub £800 it's definitely worth a go. Good luck! :D

Yeah that’s exactly what I mean.

I only ever use my pc at night though so I highly doubt it’s going to be a big issue.

I’ve held off long enough, faffing around. It’s time to order.

I'm having a bit of a strange issue :(

The monitor was fantastic on day 1, the factory calibration was perfect and I verified that it had full sRGB coverage in sRGB Cal mode using DisplayCal.

On day 2, I switched the monitor on and immediately noticed the colours were off. Ran DisplayCal again and found that this time the sRGB coverage was only 94% in sRGB Cal mode.

So far I've tried:
  • Turning it off and on
  • Doing a factory reset
  • Rolling back the firmware to MCM106
  • Reinstalling MCM108
  • Disabling colour profile management for the monitor
  • Disabling the 'Automatically manage colour for apps' setting
  • Tried Racing Mode and setting the colour space to sRGB (same issue)
  • Both HDMI and Displayport have the same issue
  • Tried connecting the monitor to another computer
  • Verified that the calibrator is working correctly on a AW3225QF (which has 99.9% sRGB coverage)

Nothing I've tried has restored the sRGB coverage back to spec.

Has anyone else seen anything like this, or could it be faulty?

Am also finding my 32” to tall
As I wear glasses these days I need to move my head when viewing from the top to bottom of the monitor to keep the focus right for my glasses :(

I need double check this but think my viewing distance from face to screen is 70cm
(or that what it was when I had my UW mounted on the same desk and desk mount)

I never needed to do this with my 35” UW monitor
