Asus ROG PG32UCDM - 4k OLED 240hz

Tempted by this or one of its siblings. The 1440P OLEDS are much less money.
Has anyone used a 1440P monitor at arms length then upgraded to a 4k? Is the text/gamming quality much differnt? If not I may save ££ and get one of those.

Yeah, recently swapped from a 1440p 360hz QD-OLED (27') to a 4K 240hz WOLED (32").

Text is much better on 4k, relatively expected though so no surprise there. I found text alright on the 1440p 27" if you bumped windows scaling to 125%, that removed a lot of the fringing that I was noticing at 100%. Gaming performance is sort of what you expect, you get less frames at 4k but ultimately the games do look ever so slightly better than at 1440p. Depends on what you're after! With your 4090/5800X3D you're basically going to be getting top performance either way you go.

Thanks mate. As it'll also be my work monitor may get the 4k one then for the text quality.

Yeah, that's been a big part of why I'm enjoying 4k over 1440p. It's nice to be able to have essentially 4 x 1080p windows open at the same time on a single monitor.

Totally different monitor isnt it? PG32UQX / PG32UQXE is IPS mini LED Gsync Ultimate 144 / 160Hz. Id love to see the Asus PG32UQXE and PG32UCDM side by side.
What I’m wanting to know really is if it’s a massive downgrade in terms of HDR. The only reason I’m buying is because of the 240hz. I’ll probably get the PG32UCDP if I’m honest.

Does anyone use this monitor for coding? The difference between this and the PG27UCDM is £280 for me (as I can get vouchers) and that seems to be a lot for display port 2.1 (got a 4090 so no issue) and slightly newer screen. I game in the evenings (COD mainly) and have a gigabyte m28u (4k 28") at the moment. This seems like a good deal...just not sure 32" is right for me...

What do you have currently?

Have to say im tempted by the pg32ucdm, im currently on 34" ultrawide so going back to a 27 will feel too small. PG27UCDM seems to have slightly newer tech.

Does 4k 240hz even work over DP 1.4 on the pg32ucdm?

Yes. With Display Stream Compression.

I’ve been rocking exactly this on my 3090 whilst I wait for my 5090. (PG27UCDM)

No issues so far. But I can say that DSC has called some issues for me in the 144hz - 160hz range with another monitor.

Updated the firmware to m108. Is there a problem if I just leave the USB cable plugged in permanently, thought it might save the hassle of looking for it if I just leave it on

Got mine over the weekend. Overall very pleased with it, some HDR YT videos looking amazing. Tried some games and noticeable improvement over my LG 27" 4k panel, but not amazing. Will prob watch many HDR movies on it as main TV has been stolen by my kid :)
You can get monster hunter free & £25 from Asus by reviewing it.
Screen reflection is fine despite it facing a window, maybe worse in summer.
Think would have preferred the up-coming 27" version but that & similar panels eg Dell not yet available & seem more ££ anyway.

I’m tempted by the price drop. I’m just hoping the PG32UCDP might go down a bit.

If not, this offer is on until the 4th April so I’m told and I’ll probably just buy this.

I ended up getting another one of these from Very for the £875. Updated to M108 firmware and running perfect. No dead pixels, no annoying coil whine like on my previous one either, stand is still slightly off centre but can live with that. 240hz is a gamechanger. Glad I gave it another go!

Yes saw that Very dropped their price too, few days after my amazon order. Did you get Very the 20% off?

I’ve been reading through the issues you’ve had and have heard that DSC could be the culprit for issues with the 50 series GPU’s.

What options are there that you would recommend with 32” and display 2.1? Preferably with burn in warranty and the same features as the PG32UCDM/P

I understand the PG27UCDM does have 2.1 however I’m used to a 32” and don’t know if this would be too much to downgrade.
