** ASUS ROG SWIFT G-SYNC 27" 144Hz GAMING MONITOR NOW IN STOCK!! **

Oh well that's that idea smashed. If it was over £600 I promised my self 4k and a third 780. So thats what I'll be doing. The dollar is at its weakest in around 5years and we get hit with this, surreal.

Let's hope this is just the case of overpricing because of first to market, like their 4K Asus monitor did.

There's no way should a TN panel warrant such a high price, even if it was a 144Hz 1ms 2560x1440 monitor.

I beg to differ Gsync is about making a fluid gaming experience when large drops in frame rates occur. This is most likely to happen at 4k resolution when most cards can't even manage 60fps in the first place.

So gsync is an ideal technology for 4k monitors. Read the gsync reviews and they tell you it starts to work really well at sub 60fps.

This.

1440p seems to be the sweet spot over 4k for quality and speed, i also see people already complain about text being too tiny to read properly on 4k.

But Asus must know more people are interested in this 1440p screen, what a price.. i expected close to £500.

Well not in any rush for new stuff so the price will probably drop at least £100 easily this year.

Gibbo trying to run 4k at 25FPS will look crap on any monitor, however if you have a monitor and game that is running 30-50FPS up and down all the time then G-Sync will help a lot, it will not make constant low FPS look better as other peep stated 4k will be for most.

4k is tomorrow not today, 1440p should be the new 1080p.

That's exactly what the other guy said who I was agreeing with.

Powerful setups can also do 4k at 30-60fps, certainly our Vesevious PC can in which case a 4k G-Sync monitor would be awesome when matched with such hardware, your just gonna need 4 Titan Blacks ideally, so it is today but you are talking crazy money.

But with 4k the need for AA/AF is far reduced, turn that off and you can get ok performance with just a pair of Titan Blacks or 780Ti's. :)

@ Gibbo, I was disagreeing with Aurhinius on Pg1 (you later quoted him) and agreeing with Luke_Bowman.

At least you are one of the few who have seen it in the flesh but I will still stand by 4k will be constant low FPS for most peeps not so much high to lows.

Yes I agree SLI at least 2 way as I said before.

Either way this is not a "4k thread" or "to expensive for a TN etc" and I waited a long time on this so need see pixel/backlight issues if any.

I am sure I posted a 4k GSync thread weeks ago for those who do not like/want this monitor.

The specs look superb. The hype has been measured. The price has been set.

Now I'll wait for some reviews. Then we'll see if it all adds up to £700 of monitor.

It's expensive as there is no competition for it at the moment. I'm sure if the other brands see it selling well everyone will have something coming out just like 1440p screens and 21x9 screens.

Maybe..... :-)
