Asus ROG X570 Crosshair Dark Hero Release? *** NO Competitor Talk ***

All first wave of stock is now sold out everywhere.

Need to keep a lookout for restocks/pre orders.

I also spoke to a few other UK store today and none of them had any expected date for receiving the Dark Hero.

Looks like at best end of December limited amounts.

Ok, thanks for the update and help, really wanted this board since it was first announced for my first ever build

Sexual. So, it is real! I thought you would be sent a paper board!

mine should be here tomorrow. Always a day later in the Isle Of Man lol

funny I though this would be the last piece of my puzzle. Turns out it’s the stupid 5950 which is constantly delayed shipment wise.

gives me loads of planning time though and thinking this would be arriving mid december mean I will hopefully have my build finally done 1st week of dec instead of 2021.

Just pinged the discord channel to ask for an update on stock for the Dark Hero and the response was 'Currently delayed, no confirmed ETA'.

Wonder if that will be just for OUK or for all suppliers who are hoping to get this M/B in the UK

I am considering getting one of these, but I had one question for the community here.

I have an ASUS WS Pro x570-Ace on order. My main reason for going for it was the professional design, lack of RGB and lack of "gaming branding". However, I am a bit annoyed because internal USB-C connector is important for me (WS Pro doesn't have) and with no on-board WiFi, I'm planning on using a PCIe card for my connectivity needs.

Now, my question is is it worth getting a Dark Hero over the WS Pro? In that, would there be a noticeable "performance jump" going from the board I ordered to the Dark Hero? I am wondering if there are other people here in a similar position, where they don't respond super well to gamer branding and want something a little slicker looking for CAD design, rendering and other professional work (with gaming on the side).

I appreciate this might be a bit of a subjective question and any thoughts would be appreciated. I have a Dark Hero on order with a European retailer who don't know when they'll actually get stock in, so I was considering potentially doing an initial build with the WS Pro, and then moving things over if that arrives but I'm aware I might be being a bit stupid with all of this.

ye lol ...another farce ...lol
so whats thought on hero dark vs standard hero ? is it going to be worth the wait ?

I got the Gigabyte Aorus Master and I am putting an EK block on the PCH fan to eliminate that issue and improve temps all round.

Either Hero is a solid choice and I doubt you will notice the difference if you don't overclock. If you do then, the improved VRM "may" help and the lack of PCH fan is a bonus!

Oh, and the new Asus software to control all core overclocks is a winner, but I wonder if that will come to other boards anyway?

I think that boils down to what you care about because the differences between the boards fall into two categories:
  1. Pure aesthetics - there are differences but to my eye they're quite subtle and probably subtle enough to not make an appreciable difference for a board sat at the back of a case half obscured by a graphics card, water blocks and everything else going on.
  2. Overclocking potential - VRM's are beefed up (tho' it's arguable that the curremt ones are more than adequate) and the introduction of new functionality in the BIOS for Dynamic Overclocking (which allows to have the best of both between all-core and single core overclocks).
If you care enough about either of those things then it might be worth the wait, otherwise no.

Edit: and the chipset cooling, DH has passive cooling, the standard has a fan.
