Asus ROG X570 Crosshair Dark Hero Release? *** NO Competitor Talk ***

If you think about this, this is all just a failure of communication - I'm sure OCUK have a number of boards inbound and frankly I would have preferred to have ordered with them but no one wants to just wait in the dark. Now many people are getting it delivered from other European etailers.
More open comms would have helped but ultimately the deciding factor for me was the ability to pre-order, to get a place in the queue.

Like others are saying, the Dark Hero is now popping up in multiple EU stores. I got a notification early morning stating in-stock.

By the time I went to the site there were only 2 left.

I was in 2 minds if I should order it from an unknown EU Store.

By the time I got my credit card there were 0 left in stock.

Not really the biggest deal for me as I am still 800+ in the 5900x que.

After being told that massive amounts of these CPUs will be coming in weekly. Today update, 29 CPU are confirmed inbound Lol.

But good news - we are finally seeing more availability of the dark hero. Hopefully UK shops we'll start selling or pre ordering soon.

I'm pretty sure that today's update shows that these are additional inbound stock on top of delivery that has been delayed - at least that is how things are explained in the notes below the table in question.

Edit: tho' I now note that you mentioned 5900x and not 5950x which is what I first read - so my comment above is misdirected.

Signed up to join in on the Dark Hero fun

Assuming I'm looking at the same place as some you I wish I'd just gone for it earlier now. I thought it looked rather ropey so didn't bother. I've put an order in now so we'll see how it goes...

I've ordered elsewhere based on a stock notification but will gladly cancel and order from OC UK if they can just get it in stock or give us an idea of when we can get it...

Same here. If OCUK will have it on stock, I will be happy to cancel my order elsewhere.

But there is no rush guys, Asus is still behind with BIOS updates for the AMD line mobos. The new AMD’s Curve Optimization tool, to come with AGESA 1180, this mean to be the Precision Boost Overdrive 2. But with the current Agesa, it is not available on Asus boards yet. Btw, MSI already has it, and it is working almost good even if it not official, just beta tools.

The madness has already started in the US. People are reselling the Dark Hero for $800.

The only EU store that had confirmed stock only had 5.

OCUK and other UK stores will also probably get very low numbers to begin with.

If the 10900k was not so ridiculously overpriced (OCUK was selling them For £430 a few weeks ago now it's price st nearly £700)

I would probably cancel my Ryzen 5900x pre order and get the Intel + ROG Formula MB which should be upgradable to PCIE 4.0.

But I really want the Dark Hero, so will most likely wait it out.

Crazy, finally saved up for a full PC build but cannot spend my money.

PC hardware/new consoles appear to be priced too low, allowing too many to afford them. Supply/demand is completely out of whack, GPU/CPU/Motherboard/Consoles launches are seemingly all showing there's a huge increase of demand. I imagine this is all the 'free' money the government has been throwing out to everyone (Furlough, self employed handouts, business loans etc) making everyone flush with cash and able to afford some (or all it seems) of the new toys.

Once we get deeper into the global depression, the free handouts of cash will have to stop and supply will keep up with demand. How I see it anyway. Covid has affected supply chains for sure, though in no way completely responsible for the huge demand for anything expensive.

If you was not aware it's been reported that a single UK group purchasd 2000 PlayStation 5 and also has around 1000 more on pre-ordered.

The problem is not down to the low price of the console.

If you are so concerned about the government financial budget maybe an idea for you write a letter to Rishi Sunak, as most of us here I just hard working PC /Tech enthusiasts.

All first wave of stock is now sold out everywhere.

Need to keep a lookout for restocks/pre orders.

I also spoke to a few other UK store today and none of them had any expected date for receiving the Dark Hero.

Looks like at best end of December limited amounts.

None of the people you speak to have any clue what's going on or can even give you an ETA. Useless.

What happened to the OcUK staff who said it was 10 days out 2 weeks ago...?

I've kept my pre-order at another place but would prefer somewhere UK based.
