Trying to get authorisation from Asus to just take 100, they are still resisting and I refuse to take 500, so its a stalemate.

However we have a deal from Sapphire, arriving late this week or next week on Nitro VEGA 64 at £499 Inc. VAT which is a cracking price for that card. Only 120 units mind, so doubt they will last long.
Hi Gibbo, have you thought about approaching universities and asking them if they would be interested in buying these cards in bulk? I would have thought there are researchers who would these cards because of the computational throughout it offers.

We have a B2B and Corporate department who supply such segments, there is no demand for that amount of volume.

easy to change the thermal pads yourself , see warranty stickers on the screws then use pliers to remove the screw carefully - or swap for windforce

Tempted!, I value the warranty strongly, as OCUK deal with ASUS and advanced RMA I'm happy to buy this despite it's issues.

I've pulled the trigger @ £450, just hope @Gibbo was able to pressure ASUS in to allowing us to instal thermal pads!.

undervolt it , should help . personally would stick to 2mm pads like stock but using far better conductive ones like Pad 8 from Thermal Grizzly

They nearly all use NVidia GPUs. Vega doensn't support CUDA so it is a no go for most software.

Vega generally responds very well to under-volting as they then maintain maximum boost clocks for longer or permanently.

Thanks, I guess theres no update from ASUS?, Only bought the card because of OCUK excellent rep, and of course your cracking deals!!! so glad got it before it went back to 499 :)

Leading up to Vega's launch AMD's engineers spent hours writing up libraries and software stacks to make it easier to transition away from CUDA (this is probably why the DSBR doesn't work as they ran out of time), so if Universities are using older hardware are looking to upgrade there's still value in marketing these cards to people who will get the best out of them.

I bought one and its performing great extremley quiet as the fans are always on 0 outside of games and never any louder than my 1070 when gaming.
