Really like this machine. Will take some pics at some point.

Have uninstalled a lot of the bloatware that came with it, probably a few more ASUS utilities I could get rid of but will see if I use first.

Far quicker than I expected it to be, will decode H264 720p films at about 20-25% processor load in VLC. Like the Power4Gear hybrid app, lets you de-clock the processor to prolong battery life if not performing CPU intensive apps.

Need to find a sleeve for it, anyone got any good suggestions?

The standard W7 power options let you underclock the CPU too ;)

I've got a sleeve by 'Contour Design' and it's a decent fit, anything for a Macbook Air should be fine - I think the cheapest decent one is a Belkin for about £10

When price searching for it, as not many places are stocking it right now. Search for UL30 as well as UL30A, as a one or two places don't use the proper name for it :)

I've found in the past with Asus notebooks, quite a few seem to slip under the radar by most shops and are really hard to get hold of. Maybe OcUK should get in on the act and get some exclusive deals ;)

The offer discussed here for £399 from the carphone warehouse is for the single core version right? I can't see dual core's for much lower than £540. If your paying that much for a dual core the acer aspire 3810tz has similar spec with a 13inch screen for £489. Or the aspire 1810tz seems just as good, but with the smaller 11inch screen.

Sorry to bring up the old thread but carphone have just dropped the price for this to £349 (-£17.45 quidco).

Just ordered one myself, can't see them lasting at this price. ;)
